2007 - European setlist hysterics!?
Posted by: Stoneswolf ()

Hi!

I am suprised that I did not see setlist discussions for the 2007 dates yet.
As Chuck obviously sometimes cares about dicussion boards (Sway...), here come my permanent hopes, wishes and dreams for 2007:

***********************

whish list:

Keep it a Bigger Bang Tour! At least four BB tunes!

change of ballads: Laugh I Nearly Died instead of Streets of Love

She Was Hot in Europe, too!

Rain Fall Down (spontanious if there is Rain!)

Still Got The Blues (instead of Night Time)

One country song (did we get some in 2006?):
Dead Flowers / Country Honky / Sweet Virginia / Far Away Eyes

At least 1-2 rotating "obscure" song each night like:

Emotional Rescue
Dance
2000 Light Years
Time Waits For No-one
Sweet Neo-Con
Till The Next Goodbye
Highwire

Ey, as a Lisa - Duet seems to be part of the show:
Why not a duet on Sex Drive? Would also offer a good job to the horn section!

Keith: We know, which TWO songs were played far to often in Europe 2006. We didn't get Infamy here, yet. If You'd play

All About You or even
Sleep Tonight ... wow!

If you please keep doing a three song set, why not share vocals with Ronnie on a "New Babarians "-tune!?

B-Stage:
Look What The Cat Dragged In
Play With Fire / It Must Be Hell / She Smiled Sweetly / Family
Back Of My Hand / You Gotta Move / Hey Negrita
No Warhorses here!!

un-whished song list:

Tumbling Dice!

I'd love this song if I had not heard it at every Stones gig in my live. Now it became just terrible boring for me - and I am afraid I'm not the only one.
All other warhoreses - for me - are always welcome and essential!.

Keep it rocking and bluesy!

ABB is dead, saleswise. No need for any of it. No standouts like Out of Control or You Got Me Rocking on it.

but should they still call the tour BB without playing biggerbang tunes? Not much of BB had really been played live,

They can re-name the tour (a la Urban Jungle, No Security).

As for the warhorses, I unwish Miss You and It's Only Rock'n'Roll forever.

I'd be satisfied enough if we'd get the Wichita/ Missoula e.c. setlists (and that in places they never been before!) instead of Europe 06 setlists which were pretty boring even in cities they play on every tour. Please Chuck!! Anyway, don't expect wonders; they definitely won't happen.

Great idea, would be something for places like Kairo (in case they'll do shows "near" Europe as well) - but why so many songs; 17 is enough over there ;-) And I'd prefer Before They Make Me Run as Keith' rocker, Connection is a bit too obscure ;-)

I don't know what to THINK to be honest. I know what I'd LIKE to hear, which from ABB would include Back of My Hand and Infamy in favour of ONNYA and Rough Justice. Otherwise, I guess we're bound to get the usual warhorses, JJF, BS, Satisfaction, SMU, YCAGWYW, Dice ..... so I just hope that the "remaining" songs are things that haven't had an airing for a good long while. That'll do me. No point in setting my sights too high !

Doesn't matter what they play! But three songs by Keith - I loved that! Europe will totally love that. I'm gonna be all over the continent. Saving up bucks now. Sorry family and friends... This years x-mas presents won't be expencive - but if it's the thought that counts...

I'll be damned! I've seen that picture hunderds of times ( I think its in According to the Rolling Stones) and never noticed that it says "three Keith". I always thought it said "Free Keith". What is it supposed to mean?

>> What is it supposed to mean? <<

it's my request for Keith to sing three numbers during his LV turn.
(LV meaning "lead vocalist")
(and yes the original tshirt says Free Keith)
(which was a popular slogan during Keith's 77/78 trial)
(which resulted in the april 22nd 1979 CNIB gigs)
(which is where the cat took the photo, and why the folks in it are so radiant)

Now that would be a good idea!
I really hope they have enough new material and time to put it in shape, and it's the latter, which must say that I doubt, unfortunately.
