Seen a fairly well known pic of Mick with a beard, but I don't ever recall seeing one of Keith bearded. A couple of days growth maybe, but never a full beard. Can't imagine what he'd look like. Any pics out there ?

>> A couple of days growth maybe, but never a full beard. <<

i think the thread title means the interview he's thinking of was with Keith and Mick,
not that they both had beards.

I don't have the photo of Mick in full beard but he absolutely had one........he talks about it in this 2002 interview with Jimmy Fallon:

Jimmy Fallon interview by Mick Jagger: The comic who gave Saturday night live new life opens up to rock's most famous mouth - Interview
Interview, May, 2002 by Mick Jagger

MJ: Yup. Now, I didn't know that you were in Almost Famous [2000]. hat part did you play?

JF: Oh, man! I play the band's second manager. Actually, I had a line where I said, "You think Mick Jagger's going to be out there trying to be a rock star--"

MJ: "--when he's 50?" [both laugh] I've got it now!

JF: Yeah, I had a full-on beard, too. It was my first beard ever. Have you ever grown one?

MJ: I used to have a long, sort of Russian-type beard. I don't remember what year it was. I think it was the end of the '70s, or the beginning of the '80s. It was quite distinguished, but it was really hard to keep clean.

JF: It's the worst thing ever! When I first started growing it, it was patchy and weird looking. People with real beards would look at me and say, "Nice try." And then you have to trim around your lips and everything. It was just silly, you know? It was hard to even drink--whatever you drink gets soaked up in your mustache.

MJ: And whatever you eat. You have to clean it all the time--what a pain in the neck. But some people like it. Did you find that girls liked it?

JF: You know, I think they did. Maybe I'll grow that thing back. [laughs] I'm from upstate New York, and this one guy I know grows a beard every winter. His wife says, "Oh, John's growing his beard--it's winter." [laughs] It's like, come on, can't he just wear a sweater? I mean, this isn't the mountain times, where you need it to be warm. Wear a scarf!

MJ: The hibernation look.

JF: Exactly. You're a human, you're not a bear! [both laugh]

sigh: communication is so difficult sometimes! i am cognizant that Mick has had a beard at various points.
i was simply explaining that LA Forum wasn't trying to say that Keith had a beard in the interview he's asking about.

and to prove it, here's one of Mick's better-known bearded phases:

So freaking weird to see Mick combining that "Russian" beard with his usual kinky Iggy Pop style...

Mick and Keith did an interview at Electric Ladyland Studios in NY for Jamaican TV in December 1979 for a show called "Earl Chin's Rockers '80". Jagger had a beard for that interview (which he still had when the thermo photos were being taken for the album artwork a few months later)

However, the Rockers 80 interview wasnt actually broadcast until autumn 1980 by which time theyd inserted a couple of the new ER promo videos - including the rarely seen 'band performance' one of 'Emotional rescue'. I think he was clean shaven again from about the spring onwards

I see it more as a communication thru time with the 1967 promo pics of
Jim Morrison combined with Morrison's bearded era.

I suspect it made it much easier to get around in places like New York City and Paris and not be bothered. I mean look at that Annie Liebowitz picture-- if you saw him on the street in New York City like that, but dressed normally, not drawing attention to himself, by the time you did the double take and said "Wait, who is that?" he'd be long gone...

But there are people that even make people twist their necks
also in metropolises. Let go not too many...

That 'Earl Chin's Rockers' interview is good, but,as far as I know, the quality isn't up to much^ I have a version of it,but only half is watchable.

I may have it somewhere, but as Irelandcalling says above, much of it is barely watchable
