Wow, what a scene! Never heard of that. She was hot, but Ronnie's the hero. Keef's soul (little) brother.

I wonder how many, if any, in the audience knew what Ronnie meant by "Dirty Work, probably", when he was asked what did he do in 1982 (when his partner, that actress with a nice cleavage - was born). Well, Ronnie's memory is not the best, either - I wonder what Mick might have said... It was a classical, Rolling Stone style answer, anyway.

How come I have the feeling that if it would have been Keith instead of Ronnie the guy would not have just got the content of the glass thrown all over his face, but be hitted by the very glass as well. Namely, then he would have met the real "old bastard". Knock out, probably.

I remember watching this, from the UK BRIT awards, our annual music awards, and it cracked me up! Hilarious...

I think the last thing ronnie says is 'don't edit that'.

Hilarious. Apparently, the 'intruder' met ronnie a few months later at a party and apologised to him/was very embarrassed, and ronnie was totally cool with it, saying "that's rock 'n' roll mate...!"

great security at that event ..huh? ronnie handled it very well considering how close that guy got...and how long the "intruder" was up on stage before being pulled off. RW was a bit tipsy too....what year was that?

i remember another classic footage of the woodster at some mtv award so. i believe it was in the nineties. he was pissed en had to introduce someone who came on stage. the following moments you see the guy giving a speech while ronnie has a classic should i stay or should i go moment. is that on youtube?

embarassing. not only this spaced up moron, but also Ronnie who is totally drunk. it may be funny to watch, but after all this is the 'fun' created by alcohol and drugs. glorifying Ronnie in a situation like this as "king" is exactly the kind of attitude that kept him on his addiction path for long, much too long, until it nearly destroyed him and possibly the band, judging from his guitar playing at times during this tour (thank god he has recovered as it seems). when I was younger, me too believed that being drunk or on drugs is "rock'n'roll". now I know better. its just weakness.

Anyway, you really have to wonder about security. The guy could have been dangerous (instead of just a drunk imbecile). I know we like to joke about how Keef would have demolished the guy. Lets not forget Keefs not a young man anymore. He's an old dude and not very big. Security needs to be tight especially when nuts can sneak up on you.

Well, this guy is quite a famous DJ, and was a guest back stage.

By the way, in the end of the clip Wood says "where's Vinnie". Isn't Vinnie one of the Irish body guards working for the Stones?

yes, good old Vinnie. and if you see Keith in person right in front you you can easily come to conclusion that nowadays he tears noone apart.

That is Vinnie Jones, an ex footballer and now into the occasional movie, has a real 'hard-bastard' image over here. Him and ronnie are good friends, and the comment was a joke as if to say "I'll let vinnie on him and that will be the end of that!"

You know it still rankles me that the dude calls Ronnie an "old bastard". Just pisses me off. Yes, at the very end he does say "Don't edit that". What I love about Ronnie is that through ti all he always has that half grin on his face. Yeah, I know he is in the bag, drunk, but he is still the coolest.
Spanish Tony works very hard in his book at trying to paint the picture of Keith being big at running his mouth, talking tough and letting his henchmen do the dirty work. And I often want to kind of believe that. That he is a spoiled, pampered rocker who talks aboput "shivving" people, but is all bluster. yet in Altamont in a very scary situation of real anarchy, of no body guards protecting him; actually turning on him, in a crowd of 300, ooo crazed strangers and showqed some real balls.

About Keith: I'm not sure that he could pummel that many people either. But keep in mind that he has that knife on him. That would make many people run away. I know I would. Also, if you check out OldKR's website there's some how-to-beat-people advices from Keith. "Go for the old knee in the nuts. And then smack his head against something hard..... His mate's head if there's two of them".

Ronnie isn't king here, just an old man with a serious alcohol addiction trying to extend the party as long as possible. I mean, what is the main target group of a ceremony like the Brit Awards? Young people between twelve and sixteen I guess. All we can see in that clip is an obviously drunken RW behaving like a clown. That's what I call a good role model for a teenager. I can show it to my fifteen year old daughter as an example for how deep someone can fall. I love the Stones, their music and everything since 1974. But for me it is not cool to walk on stage to present an award with a glass of alcohol in hand, acting like a fool. OK that was 2000, let's hope he's on a better way now.

django -- I think you're exaggerating. Yes, Ronnie is obviously drunk, and he has a beer with him on stage. Sure, doesn't look very good. But he actually "takes care" of that other dickhead in a pretty cool manner. None of them are role models for any young person, but after all that's Ronnie Wood and the other dickhead is a stupid dickhead. He deserved the beer in his face. And you gotta love how the girls laughed too.
