Keith - Sinatra's successor?
Posted by: StonesTod ()

Keith is cool. Frank was the very epitome.

So, I'm watching Keith on Sunday during YGTS using his cigarette as a prop as he stood at the mic stand....and I couldn't help but think he clearly is using Frank as the role model during this part of the show. Not a doubt in my mind.

let's hope he doesn't follow him TOO closely anytime soon . . .

you can't catch me!

Both Sag's with fags. Sagittarius that is.
Bort have pretty generous ears too, havent they?
On the sixth hand theres this female singer Sinead O'COnnor:
she's also a Sag, but Frank didnt like her anyway.
Sammy Davis was a Sag too.
On the seventh hand Prince Charles have huge ears,
but he aint too similar
to any of those (time to go to bed)...

Frank made it past 80 - Keith will be hard-pressed to match that....

regardless....my point is that Keith seems to identify with the chairman of the board from a "coolness" standpoint....and his performance on YGTS seems to be where that is most evident

They're both cool. Cool people don't channel any one--they're just who they are.

Should we buy Keith just the right trenchcoat a la Sinatra? I envision Keith's version of "One For My Baby and One More For the Road. Followed by removal of trenchcoat (a cool Keithie outfit underneath, of course) for a super up-temp0 "Come Fly With Me" so that Little Queenie will have an opportunity to shake her tailfeathers.

A cheetah trenchcoat. Very not-Burberry's.

Of course, he'd continue to hang his voodoo charms from his hair. And, certainly, he has more than that very great singer Sinatra did.

Once upon a time.... if you made any comparison between Frank & Keef... Jilly Rizzo would have probably had your legs broken!

BOLLOCKS! So, ur, Keith smokes and drinks Jack Daniels and is a musician. Therein the similarity ends. Keith is smoking on stage during his segment because he wants a ciggie. Bowie, Nick Cave, Bryan Ferry, Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, Joe Strummer, Johnny Thunders, Lou Reed, Johnny Cash all smoke/smoked on stage during their acts - doesn't make them Sinatra either. It just makes them musicians who smoke on stage.

were you there, Nikolai? It wasn't just that he was smoking the thing - it was the manner in which he used it as a prop - very Sinatraesque. So there.

not even close - nikolai was suggesting that "smoking on stage" was what I was suggesting. actually, KR wasn't smoking during the song - he was merely using the fag as a prop. sheesh. the collectvive IQ on this board seems to be dropping by the hour....
