happy to report that Paulywaul and Beast's trip over from London has taken a turn for the better. Both of them (plus Mrs Paulywaul) are in for tonight's show.

Oh really, I thought it would be impossible to get tickets. How nice.

Still waiting to hear how they did it. I would hope that some tickets are being released at the box office as there's bound to be a few returned by people from out of town who cant go to the new date.

Great news! Gazza can you have Beast text me where they'll be preshow? If they are planning on meeting at 5, tell me it's 4, so I won't be very late. Oh I'll still be late, for sure, but not as much. hehehe

Wow. Everyone is planning for tonight, and I'm sitting here in DC, on a break from a meeting that will last all day. Damn, wish I didn't have to work for a living.

May be this is your lucky day?

It is 2:30pm in NYC now, nice and warm weather, very unlike Sunday. Around 10-15 people have been lining up outside the Beacon in hopes for spare tickets to be handed out at some point this afternoon. If you are in or near NYC this afternoon then I would say it is absolutely worth joining that queue for a few hours. Security do not kick them out, which is a good sign. Again very unlike Sunday, where they kicked out any queue that formed within short time.

In short: Go to Beacon if you don't have a ticket. It may be your lucky day. Spend a few hours with fans in the queue now. But don't kill me if nothing happens. I just have a hunch...

I'm really surprised that only 10-15 people are line at this point. If I were in New York I certainly would take that chance.

The lack of tickets being released may have had a lot more to do with there being much less available to the public in the first place due to the Clinton group, as well as maybe there never were going to be any available as the Secret Service would not have had those people's names available in advance to screen like they did with everyone else already set to attend that show.

no brainer - that's where I'd be. this one "smells" more like the Licks theater shows than the one the other night....and there were rewards for those who remained persistent back in '02, as you'll recall...

Re: Beacon-2 reports

Update at 3pm: The small block where The Beacon is located in NYC is now totally occupied by the Stones and their production crews. The Beacon front door along Broadway is barricaded by security. Around 20 fans are lining up with hopes for tickets. Not a bad idea today. Crew mingle all over. Up along 76th st they have the Cohl crew and the back door, security will seal off that whole street soon as the "boys" arrive within an hour or so. Amsterdam Ave is all occupied by trucks and sound+film crew. The side door to the stage is actually open, as it is quite warm today, so you can see how hundreds of seats have been taken out, and how the Beacon floor is basically a filming location, plenty of cameras. Scorsese trucks are lined up all along 75th st, as they are receiving tons of film to edit and work on for the movie/dvd.

...nice update, thanks BV.

It's unseasonably warm here in NC too. Feels like a good day for a concert.

I'd say get in that line and don't give up, even if they disperse the queue - which they did at 5.30 on Sunday. Most people left the scene but myself and literally only a couple of others did not, despite the freezing cold. And incredibly we four alone were eventually rewarded for being in the right place at the right time. The odds should be quite a bit better tonight, especially with the postponement as well. Good luck, people. Where there's a will, there's a way. And if nothing else, you'll have a gas with the other fans and probably have Mick wave at you as he goes in.

Beast (or anyone), what time did you get in on Sunday? I'm headed for the train station (1 hr away) and it won't get in to NY until 7:30. And I can be at the Beacon at 7:45. Think that's too late??

Thank you very much Gazza for all your communiques and good wishes whilst we've been over here. We are understandably over the moon to be going to tonight's show. Shall try and get you photos and details to you as soon as possible after the show - allowing for the hysteria to fade away of course !

I queued up from about 12.30. I think the later you get there the slimmer the chances may be as you'll be at the end of any line. But you never know your luck.

I know that if the rumored Wiltern show happens on the 20th, then I'll be sleeping overnight outside, assuming I don't get a ticket beforehand.
