l just got this boot it has live performances from 63-64 at places called the Saturday Club, Blues in Rhythm, and the Joe Loss Show my guess they were local tv shows, it has all the early stuff done "live" and a few interviews with Mick,Keith and Brian.l had never heard of this record. Can anyone add to its history? Thanks
from what youve described it appears to be a direct copy from the "Stones at the Beeb" 1 hour documentary from BBC radio which was broadcast in November 1985, and which featured lots of archive broadcasts (some of which werent previusly in circulation) as well as old interview clips.
courtesy of Nico Zentgraf's "The complete works" site, heres the content of the 'Stones at the Beeb' 1985 broadcast. See how it compares with the CD you have :

Now, here's an idea! Virgin should get together with the band and the BBC and do exactly what David Bowie did. Have an intimate concert wit special fans ringside, release a double CD - one containing historical material, one with live, new stuff from the fan-concert and also a DVD with old clips. That would be a real treat for every fan everywhere. And I think the Stones would enjoy doing it too. And I think the'd make money on it. VIRGIN! BBC, MICK - KEITH - hello - can you hear me? Anyone else who thinks this is a good idea?
of course, but unfortunately the Stones and Cohl's definition of a 'special fan' would be a billionaire who's willing to pay them about $10 million for a private show
You know, I just thought about it: the Stones make way too much money for just playing music. They are really just a damn band. Millions of dollars is ludicrous. How did that ever happen? Every once in a while a real basic simple truth will reveal itself to you. I just "saw" it all of the sudden. Millions of dollars to get up and play some rocktunes, run around and wave alot. Those boys jst ain't right..
"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."
Perhaps they will do more of this sort of thing after December (Charlie's cut-off date for large scale touring). I would personally love it to be at the Beeb too as I work there & might feasibly be able to sneak in for nothing!

If I were Rolling Stones....I'd invite everyone with more than 100 posts at this board to a intimate concert, and a party afterwards. Heck, I'd even pay for their flight-expenses.
