There's a pretty funny parody by the syndicated American radio duo Bob & Tom called "Andy's The Sherrif," after Bob Marley's "I Shot The Sherrif." The funniest part of the song is an Aunt Bee imitator shouting "Andy! There are SEEDS in my marijuana!!!"

Barney was a harp-player, just like Mick. Remember when he led Jimmy the dynamite-filled goat out of town with the sound of his harmonica?

I think Keith would make a beeline for the moonshiners. He couldn't live without them. He'd have to ask Otis where to find 'em. They'd probably spend a lot of time in the tank together.

Can someone please post "Me and Opie" by BR-549? It is a song about the lost episode of the Andy Griffith show...

Maybe he'd be inspired to do a good country tune or two.

Ahhh, two of my favorite subjects. Keith would surely be arrested and then be tapped for the top guitar job in Bobby Fleets Band with A Beat. Does anyone remember that episode?

Yes indeed daddy-oh. A bunch of cool cats. A late-night favorite.

I can see Keef jamming with Andy right now.... doing "Honey let me be your salty dog"

Nobody has the BR-549 "Me and Opie" song? It is pretty funny, especially the live version...

One of the funniest t-shirts I have ever seen had a photo of Floyd the Barber sitting in his chair, with a pink background.....the caption of the shirt read....PINK FLOYD. It was and is a riot.

Shawn20....your post reminded me of a couple of local band names: "Pink Floyd The Barber" and "Aunt Bea's Pickles".

I'd love one of those shirts if anybody knows where to get one.

My apologies to all of my European friends, but the Andy Griffith Show is an American classic. Television at its finest.

Anita and Marianne could be Helen Crump and Thelma Lou.

But who would be fun the "Fun Girls?"

The Butter Queen from Dallas, Texas would be one of them.

No doubt he would hook up with the lady druggist Ms. Elly.

I'm sure he'd change the records on the jukebox in the diner.

BTW, Ernest T. Bass = Phil Collins look-alike!

There would be a HUGE sex scandal as Helen Crump would cheat on Andy with Ron Wood and blame it on Keith.

Andy would be driven from his sheriffs office in a political scandal.

Otis the drunk would be framed for Keith's stash.

Opie would be shot in the head, so Happy Days would never be made as a TV show.

Great thread, Elmo and company. I have that Pink Floyd shirt of which you speak. It was given to me from a friend who said it's unauthorized, i.e. it's a bootleg. I get so many chuckles from strangers when I wear it.

As for the whole Mayberry/Stones thing, when on stage, Gomer will be hidden under the stage singing Keith's set while Keith's mic is turned off. (like when he covered for Barney's choir solo).

By the way I'm in the mountains of NC, not far from Mt. Airy, the town from which Mayberry was supposedly created. We are getting dumped on with snow as we speak. I'd say there's about a foot of the white powder out there now. I'm going to get my huge straw and start snorting (I'm joking, kids).

Speaking of "Happy Days", gut, how about this thread taking a left turn in that direction. Keef walks into Arnold's - what happens next?

I say he drops a quarter into the jukebox and plays "Sweet Little Sixteen". Mick bangs Joanie. Stu plays Ralph Malph and Chuck is Potsie (what a name, eh, LK?).

and Billy P. porks chachie and is thrown in jail with Keith and Otis....then Mrs. "C" bakes a cake loaded with hemp (for potsie) and a file (for Keith) to bust the crust outta there........meanwhile...Fonzie is busy pulling strings to book Keith at the local Elks Lodge for a solo gig at 15% of the take

Don't forget Billy! Ever notice that there was only one black in Mayberry? The pro football player turned Opie's coach. Don't know if there were any blacks on "Happy Days". Just an Asian. Chachi is kinda like Fez on "70's Show". Who knows what race? Keith would have definitely fit in on "70's Show" in Eric's basement around the table.

Keith sittin' at the table in the '70s show would be perfect with the gang and Tommy Chong....passing the bong and telling tales....until Red walks in and let's 'em have it........then Donna will dump Eric for Keith and more chaos erupts

Then Ernest T. Bass, played by Phil Collins (remember Elmo said they look alike? or are they the same person?...I've never seen them together at the same time..Hmmmm?),...anyway Ernest T. throws a rock through Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham's bedroom window while they're doing "it", thus bringing down the wrath of Fonzie on him, played by Keef, who is actually able to catch the wiry little rock thrower...

(Sorry, guys, cabin fever has set in with me)

Some of this stuff is a whole lot better than the real episodes! And we haven't even brought the Clampett's in yet! Cohl as Mr. Drysdale, I guess! Boy George as Jane Hathaway (TV's first lesbian).
