Looks like the "will there or won't there be openers?" question is answered. The Stones just posted on Facebook that The Avett Brothers will open in Raleigh. I'm pretty happy about that choice if there has to be an opener, but I hope The Stones won't be subject to a hard 11:00 PM curfew.
Someone else just posted that Pittsburgh will have Awolnation as openers.
Any other announcements out there? I wonder if this will just be in certain (perhaps slower selling?) markets?

Raleigh was from a FB post from the band. Someone else posted in the Pittsburgh thread that there was a FB post from the band about Awolnation, but I don't see that post when I look at the band's FB page (I do see the Raleigh one).

I think "special guest" is a standard promotional term for openers. I've heard that term used since I started going to shows in 1981. Er, at least I think I have. That's what I'm telling myself.

In addition to Buffalo, St. Paul and Broken Bones also showing they are opening in Atlanta. Listening to them on their site: Almost a Blues Brothers vibe with a little Al Green thrown in is at best I can compare.

The Avett Brothers in Raleigh!!!!! They are one of the best "new" bands in the last 10 years. They will rock it in their home state. My two favorite bands, one night. They are high energy, extremely talented singer/song writers and who rock it out!!!
