Moonlight Mile great but Winter could be my favourite song from their entire catalogue. Winter is the winner!

MM blows Winter out of the water. It's a classic.

Winter.

Not to mention Gimme Shelter, Monkey Man, Sweet Virginia... both are my two favourite Stones songs without any doubt! Fantastic string arrangments, stunning endings! But I went nuts when I listened to Winter for the first time... I mean... is it really a Stones' song?

It's a tie. Anything from the mid-sixties to early seventies is a tie. Just typing.

Both great - I'd give a toe to hear either one this summer. That and Time Waits for No One. But MM is the winner if I had to pick one.

I can only answer by pointing out that there was a certain "Royal" poster on the forum who would swear that Satanic Majesties was the best record they ever made. smiling smiley

Gonna listen to both of them right now and then tell which one.

Extremely close, but I guess it will be Winter because it's a tad more melancholic and because it lead to two incredible versions with Carla Olson and Taylor.

Both certainly among the most beautiful ballads the Stones ever recorded.

True that ... as much as I love Winter, MM is truly a masterpiece, not even close on this one.
