'Going Down' with Jeff Beck during the opening night of the 50 & Counting Tour. The Rolling Stones sounded with him like a hard rock band, that was very special for me.

I read once that Jimmy Page really liked the riff/tone of 'Dance Little Sister' and wished he had come up with it...

Street fighting man live 69-73 I think is the closest they've gotten to sounding like metal.

Done in what we could call a heavy-style would be the much underrated Steel Wheels track 'Hearts For Sale' which follows the dense 'Hold On To Your Hat'.
A great coupling.

If we talk heavy as metal-esque I'd say Hold on to your hat and Hold back are strong contenders.
I don't like both of them but they always had that flavour to me.

I believe that a song can be heavy even without the distorted guitars or other noise, so my choice will be:

Tell Me (The Long Version)

2 1 2 0

I Wanna Be Your Man must have been one of the heaviest by the time of its release.

That's right.....was there a song before that with such a guitar solo.............

Play it Loud..............
