I would like to start a meet up Friday night in San Diego. The place is Patricks, and the address is 428 F Street. It is near 4th Street in downtown, walking distance to Petco Park. I have been going there since 1989,and it is the best bar in the gaslamp district in San Diego by far! Bill Magee Blues Band is playing there, and he is a fantastic guitarist! He played with Jimi Hendrix in the early sixties before Hendrix made it big. He will also be available to talk to. The cover charge is only $5,and if there is a line to get in, you usually don't have to wait more than 10 minutes. I live about 8 miles away, and will be there with some friends. I will definitely be wearing a Rolling Stones jacket or shirt.

I did something exactly like that, only in Vegas in 2005. A Boston Terrier was our witness, in the back seat of my car as we said our vows from the front seat in the drive-up window of The Little White Wedding Chapel on Las Vegas Blvd. That no man's land part of Las Vegas Blvd north of "The Strip" but south of the "Downtown Fremont Street Experience.". Honestly, I was so moved, I was surprised how emotional I got, started crying in the middle of the vows (first & only time I've ever said them). It was just as meaningful to me in that kitshy setting as it would've been in a huge church or wherever.Doesn't matter to me where the ceremony takes place. Who you're marrying is all that matters.

I'd love to go to a Stones concert instead of holding a normal reception!!

Ok, now that LA is over, lets focus on San Diego.
We will hear for the first time, what they are really going to do on this tour.

I would guess only half of those songs last night, will be heard again.
Mick doesn't like many slow songs in stadiums, and the covers are out. Although the tribute to BB King was classy.

So my friend at Petco park said the "tentative" plan is to clean up after the Padres game tonight. Groundscrew has a lot of work to do to get the field ready to be covered, etc. Trucks roll in from LA and the stage trucks early tomorrow morning.

Stage will be set up tomorrow night and maybe into Saturday morning. Then the testing begins. I would think Mick would want to rehearse a little on the stage for feel and sound, lighting etc. so perhaps that happens Saturday afternoon or evening. It's very risky to hit a new stage for the first time a few hours before your first show. So they might do both a rehearsal Saturday and sound check Sunday.

I know exactly where to stand for the rehearsal/sound check for best sound, and perhaps view as the band enters. I was there for McCartney last Fall and we saw him pull in, wave to us, and then heard his 30 minute sound check free!

I've heard that the boys are not actually staying in SD overnight and may be shuttling from their LA HQ. So that would make for logistics challenges. Maybe helicopter to/from LA on Saturday and Sunday?

I'm flying in from Philly Saturday AM. Looking forward big time. I've attended every US tour opening gig since 1981 and the opener is always a special thrill.

We arrived in SD from Florida and are hoping to hear some good local musicians before the Stones on Sunday. This sounds like a great place; especially with Bill Maher playing tonight. Heading to Tijuana later today but planning on being at Patrick's tonight. Also looking forward to Moonshine Flat's deck on Sunday.
