OT new Pops Staples LP

for me, it's a very good and unexpected news.
There is a new a Pops Staples album, recorded just before his death in 2000. It was conducted by his daughter Mavis. Thus it's almost a Staples Singers one !

Here is the story in NPR with a first listen
npr.org

There is also an article in the New Yorker
newyorker.com.

I always loved the Staples and I still do with these songs.

Any other connections with the Stones other the Last Time line ?

Lots of love for the Staples here!

Remember years ago I received Be Altitude: Respect yourself as a birthday present and was an immediate addict. Still trying to find a decent way to play it with my band.

From what I was able to hear, this will be a great release!

Bob Dylan on the Staple Singers on Febr. 6th, 2015:

"Pervis Staples and the Staple Singers - long before they were on Stax they were on Epic and they were one of my favorite groups of all time. I met them all in ‘62 or ‘63. They heard my songs live and Pervis wanted to record three or four of them and he did with the Staples Singers. They were the type of artists that I wanted recording my songs."
