Sad thst only a couple years after this Ronnie could hardly walk.

Ronnie Lane (much like all of the band members from Faces) is criminally underrated and more deserving of commercial success (although his slim chance band acknowledges this funnily enough by their namesake).

Is this video the same that was released on Ronnie's Rocket 69 CD/DVD?

That's great stuff, though. Thanks for sharing!

A "what if?" to ponder.....If Ronnie Lane hadn't fallen ill and had remained active and healthy, would he have been a candidate to replace Wyman when Bill left the band?

The idea of a touring unit of Mick, Keith, Charlie, Woody, Lane, Mac and Keys makes me smile.

I think I did post this concert video under favorite videos some time back when I first watched it and was blown away at how good this band was. Not many big names but their sound is so fun and honest. Ronnie wrote so many great songs for The Faces that he didn't get a chance to sing himself and that may have been one of the reasons he left the band.

Hmmmmmm Ronnie Lane touring with the Stones, what a wonderful thought.......

..isn't it great to see and hear them? Ronnie Lane's voice is great. His songs are moving, pure and simple.

And to see and hear Ian Stewart with him is just right.

First song start with an e-minor chord. You can hear it clearly on the piano. What about that "no minor chords" nonsense?

Stu didn't play minor chords. except when he did.

Thanks for the link, great music and playing indeed...not having really listened to him before I was trying to pinpoint the voice Ronnie's reminded me of and I think it would be Jerry Lee actually, Stu's boogie woogie piano helps I suppose, oh and a more melodic Dylan...anyway it stands by itself and is pretty unique.

That must be Henry McCullough of Wings fame on guitar ?

Beautiful...loved Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance. Great version of Sweet Virginia. Must be younger people following this board and maybe this thread who have no idea who Ronnie Lane was

The Rockpalast show is a great video. The guys have clearly had a few and were jolly through this recording. A rare treat to see Stu in full action and leading the way with Ronnie. Pity the audience seemed completely clueless.

This one is a real gem that Faces and Stones fans alike will love.

That's a hell of a band having a whale of a time - may I also mention the wonderful Charlie Hart on rock'n'roll accordion?

He played both minor chords and used the ivory keys. Two funny myths smiling smiley
