Same Line - 2 Different Stones Songs
Posted by: stonesstein ()
Date: December 9, 2014 04:17

Maybe someone has posted something like this, but if so, please forgive, as I could not find it.

Here's one for you -

Name a line that appears in 2 different Stones' songs.

Go ahead.

How about:

"What's the matter with you, Boy?"

And now, the 2 songs:

Rocks Off

and

Miss You.

Kinda funny how stuff like this pops in your head.

Not exactly the same either, but close:

I'm givin' you a piece of my mind. (Think)

I'm gonna give you such a piece of my mind (Might as well get juiced)

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

The "Wrap my coat around" line was used in the 1968 outtake "Blood red wine".
It was re-used for "Winter".

...Come on!

There's, off course, the (Chuck Berry) song "Come on";
then there's "Tops" - just from the top of my head... aaaaaarh, I'm sure the list goes on & on...!?!
And then there's practically every live version of any song they performed in those 52 years with that line in it... spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Surely the word "bitch" is used more than in the song of that title.

Ditto 'F*&k".

Technically Honky Tonk Woman and Country Honk

But I just can't seem to drink you off my mind

It's the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues

I laid a divorcee in New York City
I had to put up some kind of a fight
The lady she all dressed me up in roses
She blew my nose and then she blew my mind

It's the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues

It's the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues
It's the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme thse honky tonk blues

I am really impressed by this group, here! I never even knew the cards are on the table line. I guess I need to listen to those songs some more, though Stealing My Heart and Following the River have never been high on my list.

Good job and thanks to all for sharing!
