Been keeping cool and lying low, been dancing smooth and dancing slow
Keeping myself to myself, my nose is clean
But I'm a man, not a machine
All get together and feel alright, all get together and rock all night
All get together and feel alright
Okay, get ready, for sure, okay, let's go, suck on the jugular

Wanna change my shape and change my name
Want to get out of myself for a while, don't feel no shame
I love men to be men and women women
On special occasions diving and dipping
All get together and feel alright, all get together and @#$%& all night
Alright, give me, for sure, okay, let's go, suck on the jugular

Okay, let's go, alright, oh no, aha, alright

Alright, let's live lasciviously down in the muck
And when tonight's over, you going to watch me blow and self-destruct
All get together and feel alright, all get together and feel alright
All get together and rock all night, all get together and feel alright
Get together and rock, all get together and rock, all get together and rock
All get together and rock all night
All get together and, all get together and feel alright
All get together and rock all night…

Well, alright. Let me be the one to post the first positive opinion of this track.
It is the band having fun, jamming around a beat Charlie magically provides from his
drum kit.
It's about the groove, the jamming and the fun.And I like it, like it, yes I do.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Filler - not killer. Nothing wrong with it but its just got nothing to make it stick out from the rest of the tunes on Voodoo Lounge.

It's a jam that kind of reminds me of the stuff Prince was doing in his wilderness years. There's no real tune or melody, just a loose, funky groove that shuffles around and becomes one of those dumb army marching call and response chants in the chorus.

It's black without being blue I'm afraid. This experiment of delving into black music territory worked far better on the Black And Blue album.

Out Of Tears? No just out of ideas.

It actually does stand out on this album because it's a "modern" Stones track. Groove oriented, it gives a glimmer of the vibe that Voodoo Lounge might have had if Don Was hadn't convinced them to go with a more retro approach. They were still capable of taking steps forward with musical innovation at this point, and they should have been allowed--or allowed themselves--to proceed along these lines.

It's modern for modern's sake which I'd say was probably a Jagger-driven move. And how modern is it really? They're employing that already rather dated hip hop, dropped drum beats style which had been in vogue for at least 5 years.

"The Worst", is about this song.

Not quite as stomach churningly awful as "Might as well get juiced"

Poorest track from an otherwise very good album metyhinks. I like the groove, but the song just doesn't have the sparkle other Stones groove tracks have. Last night I had 'Undercover' on, and 'Pretty Beat Up' for instance has that groove; not much of a song, but a killer groove.

'Jugular' sounds more an outtake than a finished track.

I love this track. It’s got a smooth and sexy, uber-funky, mega-danceable, super-slinky rhythm that gets me all hot and bothered. And there ain’t nuthin’ more that I need.

One of their worst songs along side 'Might As Well Get Juiced' and 'Melody'. Sounds like it should of been on 'She's the Boss'.

Worst track VL. But not as bad a Infamy, their most infamous track.

They did that proceeding 3 years later on BtB, and that was not bad at all.

Not putting the band down but no artist is untouchable. Not everything the Stones do is great. You gotta have quality control and for me this fails that quaolity test. Simples.

That drum sound might be even less funky than on Hold Back.

This could have been a decent funk jam, but turned out to be a disturbingly bad sound mix, imo.

However, there is always something to treasure in a Stones song, but I had to listen very closely (Keith's guitar) smiling smiley

At age 12 I thought this track was the Stones TRYING to be cool... probably the closest we'll get to a Stones rap track.

Together with Too Much Blood, Dance and Look What The Cat Dragged In it would have made a nice Street Dance-EP smiling smiley

Not a bad track.

I always associated it to Led Zep's The Crunge.

In both songs the music is a good straight forward funk groove, slightly laid back. For years what I couldn't stand was the interpretation by Jagger and Plant. I expected something manish, more JamesBrownish. The ONE.

Now I got used to them.

Just awful. Absolutely no redeeming feature at all. Dross. IF it was by anyone else, own up, you'd ALL hate it.

I much prefer 'rain falls down' which this sort of reminds me of. Pure filler to get to 75 minutes.

Sounds like the Stones trying to be a combination of U2 and INXS. Good groove but what's up with that drum sound? Gotta put some of the blame on Don Was for this one, Jimmy Miller would be horrified. Too bad since the playing was good.

But it has it's strong points, the guitars and Ivan Neville's B3 are all pretty cool. But MJ kinda ruins it with his contributions, both lyrically and musically.

If it wasn't for Jaggers obvious singing, who could have guessed this was a Stone's song?

peace

I've tried to like it, but no matter how many times I listen, it does nothing for me. Now it's the track I usually skip on Voodoo Lounge.

Actually, this track is the trademark of what Jagger originally wanted Voodoo Lounge to sound like. Don Was came in and wanted the band to focus on classic songwriting, rather than groove-tracks. Although many of the Voodoo-era outtakes has many interesting tracks, many of them sounds like groove-tracks and I fully understand why Don Was coached the band the way he did.
