"It is with great sadness that we, Jack’s family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father, granddad, and all round legend. The world of music will be a poorer place without him, but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts."

Wow - that took my breath away for a minute. Whomever posts these hoaxes is a very sick puppy. Glad it's not true.

(OK, now I'm confused...) saw him several years ago at the Jeff Healy memorial concert, he was wonderful.

Genuinely saddened by this, I had a lot of time for Jack and his solo stuff. Silver Rails was one of the best albums I have heard for a long time.
True legend!!!

I saw him several times, but only in a very limited kind of way. Playing 30-minute sets as the headliner or co-headliner at some "Hippie Fest" show or something like that. Also saw him as a member of Ringo's band a couple of times circa 1999-2000. He was amazing on those Ringo tours. I remember how at one show he jumped off the stage and walked all the way up the aisle playing his bass, right past where I was sitting. That's going to be my most vivid memory of him.

Still a lot of confusion and a number of sources saying it's a hoax and that his website and fb page have been hacked. Hope so. His death was on Wiki, but had been removed last time I checked.

RIP Jack. Very sad shocking news.

It would be a nice thing for the Stones to dedicate a number to Jack on this leg of the tour. Both Micks and Charlie have performed with Jack at some point.
Something like Crossroads would be a nice touch. Easy to rehearse at short notice and something that Jack was well known for in his Cream days.

Sadly all to real. Wyman & Bruce, the two big influences on my playing.

Seems like every time a celebrity dies nowadays, there's someone ready with a "no, it's just a hoax" story the minute he or she dies. Why would anyone start a "Jack Bruce is dead" hoax? The answer is, they didn't. Someone started a "Jack Bruce really isn't dead" hoax. What the @#$%& is wrong with people?

Agreed, Jack was one of my favorite Bass players. I had the honor to see Mick Taylor and Jack perform together, and later with drummer Billy Cobham.

RIP Jack Bruce †

The first of the modern day rock bass players. A true legend and a great songwriter and singer too. RIP Jack Bruce.

Sad news indeed. I'm starting to know what it's like to get old, because more and more people are going. Sure a lot of music fans will feel this. R.I.P. Jack and thank you for the memories.

Very sad news as we lose another great one. Rock and Roll isn't dead but it's dying off little by little.

RIP Jack. Gonna be a whole lot louder in heaven now.

I saw him in 1998 as a part of Ringo All Starr's Band. I liked a lot his performance of 'White Room' in that concert.

RIP Jack Bruce
