Yeah sure much like in the mid-80's digital recording was new and much better than tape...

I'm fine with the 75 just being on dvd but what I don't get is for the 81 show there doesn't seem to be a blue ray/vinyl package. I want these shows on vinyl but also want the 81 show on video in best possible picture quality, love that show.

I'm just curious if it was shot for a possible TV showing, or for their own archives. (Then again this is 1975, under the cokiest of conditions, god knows what they were thinking).

I just want LA Forum '75 on Blu Ray for the sound. I know the picture will not be high definition, but man the sound would be incredible.

Thanks for the info, kinda figure that there wouldn't be much diff in the blue ray opposed to the dvd. Novemeber is going to be a fun Stones month.

I was a wee be bit dissapointed as I already paid for a download on RS Archive.to find out the cd's from the upcoming release would not be from the 12th as advertised on DVD. but from the 13th the same as I already have. but I should have known better there was no way Bob Clearmountain was gonna be paid to tweak the knobs on another show a day earlier that would have been to much to ask.

I wonder if that has even been brought to the Stones attention? There is nothing from the date they claim to be selling.

Well, the soundtrack of the DVD is from July 11 and I'm sure Clearmountain tweaked the knobs on this one.

Yeah he did, says on the Eagle Rock release that he mixed it. I was in error I believe as I think the soundtrack on vinyl is from the DVD. This would fit with the Live in Texas release. It is a soundtrack from the DVD so that would be from the 11th.

edit: I think it is a mistake, because a blu ray was never mentioned.

It's all a bit strange. I don't inderstand what's Deluxe & Limited about it as it's got the same number of discs listed as on the normal release. Eagle Rock don't mention a BluRay release on their site so can't imagine it being right.

It's a 3 discs box, so 2 cd's and a dvd makes it 3 discs. There's never mentioned a blu ray of this L.A. release on any other site.

Is this correct?

The new DVD:
is visual is from July 11 (same concert that we have had on video for a long time but now cleaned up with a different edit, so different camera angles)

The new DVD's audio:
is the actual audio from July 11 and cleaned up by Clearmountain.

The new cd (with dvd and what ever package):
is audio from LA Friday (google download) July 13
