"From The Vault" L.A. Forum – Live In 1975, Released: 17th November 2014
Posted by: Lien ()
Date: September 2, 2014 18:30

Details

“From The Vault” is a new series of live concerts from The Rolling Stones archive which are getting their first official release. “L.A. Forum – Live In 1975” is the second title in this series. The Rolling Stones’ “Tour Of The Americas ‘75” was the band’s first tour with new guitarist Ronnie Wood. Even before the dates started there were dramatic scenes in New York City at the official tour announcement when the band unexpectedly turned up on a flatbed truck to play “Brown Sugar”. After a couple of low key warm-up shows in Louisiana the tour took in 44 dates between the 3rd June and the 8th August 1975. They settled into the L.A. Forum for a five night stint from July 9th to 13th and this concert film features the show from July 12th. The footage has now been carefully restored and the sound has been newly mixed by Bob Clearmountain for this first official release of the show.

Key Selling Points

Simultaneous release on DVD, DVD+2CD and DVD+3LP.

The Rolling Stones profile remains extremely high following their 50th Anniversary tour and releases

Full length 2½ hour concert of The Rolling Stones performing at their very best.

Includes “Honky Tonk Women,” “Gimme Shelter,” “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” “Tumbling Dice,” “Brown Sugar,” “Midnight Rambler,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “Sympathy For The Devil” and many more.

This seems to be not the same show as on the official Google LA Friday which is from Sunday 13th. Very good news. A second show from the LA series in a perfect mix as it seems.

Good catch! Since it says the 12th and it's not called "LA Friday" (which we all know was actually Sunday), this appears to actually be different than the previous audio release. Unless it's just a joke based on the pre-existing Friday/Sunday confusion!

Excellent!

Wonder if this is officially official. Unlike the upcoming Hampton '81 release, there's nothing about it on Eagle Rock's site.

Yet...

Wouldn't dismiss it as a bad joke, but the release date does seem a bit too close on the heels of Hampton.

Nice, but have seen some of it on You Tube already..The sanitized versions of Happy not showing much of Keith's wasted appearance and amazingly slow version of IORR(which otherwise was played very well that tour) were not overwhelming if that is the final product? I did like Angie.

VERY cool if true. The fact that it comes a week later than the Hampton show does appear strange. I'd have to guess perhaps the release date is incorrect.

imo there is a mistake on spincds.com about the date of the show.
it must be the show from July 11th, the only one that has been fully filmed

Humm... there's nothing about it on the sites of Eagle Rock and RS.com.
Why are they not announce this release themselves first, like they always do?
I don't think this is a genuine one.
It's also too short after the Hampton release. That's commercial wise not a smart move.
I wonder if Wonderland (or something like) is behind this release?

Do we know for sure that only the 11th was filmed?
Just because it's the only one that has leaked doesn't mean the next night wasn't filmed too.

There was debate when Eagle Rock released The Checkerboard Lounge 1981 that is was a boot etc as it was on amazon.co.uk and play.com before it was announced by Rs.com and Eagle Rock's website. I'm sure this is legit. This winter will be a killer!

Yes, Hampton is mentioned at the dvd's section on RS.com. You can pre-order it there.

I remember for how long the "new gunsandroses album" was largely waited decades ago. I took such a long time that the interest went lowering year after year.

By the time Chinese Democracy was finally released the teenagers who had been waiting since the beggining had got married, had got 4 children and were expecting their first granson.

So in the end almost anybody gave a damn.

With all due caution, differences aside, I wonder why the Stones have waited so long.

I think people are a little too excited to get the facts straight here. Which night is the one we've been watching on crappy, dark, audio challenged DVD boots all these years? I'd hesitate to say that was professionally filmed. Wasn't it determined that this was the internal video feed that the L.A. Forum used mainly for sporting events?

Is this upcoming DVD release a different night?
