Mick Jagger got nominated to do the Ice Bucket Challenge. (not only once.)
I am just wondering with any of the Stones will participate?

Always ahead of the times, our Mick spinning smiley sticking its tongue out
Maybe this time he'll wimp out and pay the Ice Challenge fine instead.

Beckenbauer didn't get dumped, so his nominations don't count, correct?

Nope, the challenge is that you either get dumped or you have to donate. He said he will donate.

this can't be the first time Keith has had ice water dumped on his ahead. The difference is this time it won't be to wake him up... hahaha

Oh please! I'm so tired of reading about this self-promotional stunt. Donating to charity is always a noble thing, but this nonsense is playing into the hands of the narsicistic, social media-loving 'selfie' brigade.

The purpose is noble and I hope he will participate (especially donating some money privately, I guess), but a bucket of iced water for our refined Sir Mick? You're kidding me, it must be a bucket of cuvée Louise Pommery at least!

Just so you know, since this silly bucket thing began, the ALS Association has raised $62.5 million vs. the $2.4 million that they raised during the same period last year. Even if those members of the "narcissistic, social media loving 'selfie' brigade" don't donate anything, the attention they have brought to the cause has directly lead to a 2500% increase in donations, over 70% of which will go directly toward helping victims of this horrible disease and their families, as well as toward research that will hopefully lead to a cure.

The bucket thing seems to annoy some people, I get that. But damn, is it ever successful! The ALS Association has an excellent reputation and I am quite happy that these annoying videos are still making the rounds!

Couldn't agree more. Hope Mick, Keith, Charlie, and Mick T steer clear of this ridiculous flagpole-sitting
stunt. People aren't even using ice anymore - it's more like pool water. I wonder how many people
videoing themselves looking wet & flabbergasted know what ALS is. I know this is curmudeonly, but I
saw the movie ET last night for the first time, and didn't find that charming either...

Remind me not to invite you two to a party. Jeez! How cynical can you get. This is a fad. It will run its course. But it is a silly bit of fun to raise money for a cause. If you are tired of it, skip it. Personally, I liked Benedict Cumberbatch's production.

Is having buckets of water over your head for worthy causes any big deal ?

It's a laugh and a bit of fun.

Remember what fun is you two miserys ? >grinning smiley<

I know -- I freely admit to curmudeonlyness on these 2 items. I'm fun at a party, so I hope you
won't totally count me out. But, for whatever reasons, this ALS challenge feels cynical to me!
(as did the movie ET, which I watched for the first time last night - as did my viewing companion).

Maybe I'll wake up one of these mornings and see it in a totally different light--I'm open to that!
