There are two acoustics on this track: The picking on what sounds like a classical guitar and a strummed acoustic. Did Keith play both parts?
mmmh never thought about it and couldn`t find anything on Nico`s site. There is an interesting mention in Martin Elliott`s Book Complete Recording Sessions:
The British duo Twice As Much had a charts hit with Sittin' On A Fence copying the same classical style. Produced by Andrew L. Oldham and guitar played by ...Jimmy Page.
Perhaps Jimmy played the on both versions? Just a thought.

Not that it matters, but isn't it
"Trying to make up my mind really is too hard, I find" ?

That wouldn't make any sense, though, DP my dear.
"I find [ = in my experience] it's really too hard to make up my mind" would be standard,
but moving the "I find" on the end is 100% natural as well. I think it really is that,
although it sounded like "horrifying" to me too for years and years.

Great song which whose lyrics are more meaningful as one nears middle age.

MJ is a seriously underappreciated lyricist.

KR is even more seriously underappreciated - even MJ says that :E
(Seriously, whence the MJ words/KR music concept?? They may not collaborate much now, but they did then,
and it wasn't a clearcut "you do the words I'll do the music set-up. Or vice versa :E )

Always loved this song too - kind of a hidden gem. My favorite part is towards the end of the song, always sounded to me like keith misses a note on the guitar but they left it in the song anyway

I love this track. This and 'Ride On, Baby' may be pure pop which isn't what The Stones were known for, but who cares as long as it is as good as these tracks?
As others have pointed out, these tracks were probably skipped on Aftermath because they gave them away to others. Today it's a bit of a shame, since the tracks are much stronger than some of the lesser tunes on side 2 on Aftermath.

Pretty sure it's:
Trying to make up mind

Pretty sure it's:
Trying to make up mind
really is so hard, I find.
I've always heard "really is too hard a bind".
Anyway, I am 61 and the lyrics resonate in an entirely different way than when I first heard them long ago. They truly were old souls.
