Why OOOH (US) and not UK?

Aftermath should have been in in my top 4, but I've been playing it so much lately it needs a rest..

Wow, this was a hard one. Lib and sf I am sure of. Sg and ty can vary depending of how long it has been since the last time I listened to them or some other records. Also would have had exile, ghs and iorr on the list. And emotional rescue....

Since I listed that one as well, I'll offer my thoughts.

Being from the U.S., I'm not averse to having hits on albums. It's nice to hear a couple of hits thrown in without having to resort to a compilation album. It makes the sum total of that particular slice of their recording career seem more realistic.

And despite the fact that the album is shorter (and sometimes, shorter is better), I also like the difference in sequencing, and it makes a nice change after listening to the UK version for a while--plus you get some choice cuts like It's Alright, Spider and The Fly, and One More Try.

On most days, I'll sit down and listen to these albums back-to-back in chronological order, so the UK version of Heads would make Now! and December's Children slightly redundant.

Oh, and yes, for the reasons I've mentioned above, if you had titled the thread "Rank your 5...", I would have listed December's Children as #5, because it's short and sweet with several great tracks, and, of course, a couple of big hits (without all the high tide and green grass).

What do you think of the flow on OOOH (US)?

I mean, all of a sudden a live track pops in etc. It's hard for me to get how it was being exposed for the us version first. I'm interested in opinions, that's all.

The flow of the U.S. Heads is fine for me, and is not disrupted by the sudden appearance of the live track, anymore than December's Children is disrupted by the live Route 66. In fact I think these albums are enhanced by these tracks, because they provide a wider window on the band at that particular time in allowing a momentary glimpse of their live sound and style as it corresponded to the period when each album was released. And, of course, at least these tracks are actually live, and the band sounds genuinely inspired in each instance, unlike a certain "live" album that soon followed.
