Looks like the Seahawks will have a very difficult time repeating next year...

We'll see. They made it to the Super Bowl last year without much contribution from Harvin. Time to unleash the Beast!>grinning smiley<

yes but they have also lost golden tate, sidney rice, walter thurmond, michael robinson and brandon browner. not easy to replace such a huge loss on both sides of the ball. check this out. per espn

The Jets are ranked 32nd in passing offense, averaging only 185 yards per game, virtually the same as the Seahawks (186 yards).

A possibly interesting game in Detroit today. Who will lose more pathetically? I'm leaning more towards the Saints going 6-10 this season than my original thought, which was a highly laughable 3-13. The way things are going that might be enough to 'win' the division.

The idea of these teams like the Seahawks and Saints and whoever else never losing at home is pure crap - they will lose at home, they do lose at home, they have lost at home.

I'm seeing a minimum of 3 home losses for the Saints this season. And I wish the debacle of playoff scenarios would hurry up and happen because some people truly think the Saints have a shot due to the NFC South being one of the worst divisions this year.

Even if the Saints magically make the playoffs and if they 'win' the division like Seattle did a couple years back they'll host a game and... lose.

I think winning the division counts & would feel that way even if it worked against my team. Take the 2 divisions just talked about. The NFC West is way tougher than the NFC South. The division games make up more than a third of a team's schedule & thus should be given credence, IMHO. When New Orleans lost to Seattle in the playoffs the first time, they were a wildcard team. If they had won their own division they would've hosted a game but they didn't. Thems the breaks & the rules. What bothers me more is the way the NFL assigns bye weeks. It is entirely arbitrary & driven by nothing other than the TV contracts. Week 4 had 6 teams with byes & some subsequent weeks only had 2 teams off. The logic is elusive. To be fair, I think they should do it by division, with a random drawing determining the order. That way no team in a division would have an advantage. Even if you were unlucky enough to draw an early bye, every other team in your division would be operating under the same conditions. & 4 teams off a week seems very workable for the TV networks. I will admit that the last week bye worked well for the Hawks last year. The 1st week bye this year, not so much. I had the same opinion last year. Just a thought. GO HAWKS!!!!!

The issue I have is rewarding losers. The year Seattle 'won' their division two teams in the NFC (Tampa, NYG) finished 10-6 and missed the playoffs.

If it was seeded correctly - conference ranking by points - division winners wouldn't automatically place in the playoffs.

It's simply pathetic. I know thems the rules. Some rules are FUCKINGTSTUPID!

Can't believe Seattle lost to the Rams! Meanwhile my Bears continue to suck, especially at home. After looking so good against Atlanta last week they play one of their worst games of the year.

That might be more laughable than the Saints losing to the Lions!

Might being the key word. NFC South SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!

Just awful! Seattle sucks too! What a bizarre year so far!

Do your worst. Seahawks were pretty horrible. Not giving up on the season yet, as we have a stretch where we can get better real quick. Carolina, Oakland, NYG & KC (not so much on KC). They better. There were a few positive things. I'm not going to whine about the call at the end. They should've never been in that position in the first place.

It was a bizzare weekend of football. The NFL field is wide open at this point.

I'm not a Notre Dame fan but the way that game ended is sorta fishy.

Is that straight up or the point spread? The game is in New Orleans. Home field is certainly a factor. I took NO on my pick em sheets. Hopefully it will be a good game on Sunday night. Last Sunday's dismantling of Santa Clara was pretty boring.

I don't know. A friend heard it on sportsradio and texted me. Regardless it's bizarre. The Saints will lose at home this year and I'm leaning towards the first loss this Sunday night. You don't have the luxury of home field advantage when you're 2-4 and playing a 5-2 team.

Unless they do what they did against Detroit for the first 3 quarters for 4 quarters... but that's a stretch.

Something is very wrong with the Saints this year. Aside from resigning Jimmy Graham and getting rid of Jenkins and Sproles and Moore. And it could be THE MOST PATHETIC division in history at the end of the season with the 'winning' team being... 6-10? That's probably whack but you never know.

It's sad to watch. The Raiders were my favorite team before the Seahawks existed. Hopefully they will be back. Carr looks like he has potential. Think they are a few years away though.
