Silly Setlist Time: Steel Wheels to GRRR!

I would love to see a show like this in a club during a tour. Stadiums one night and a club a couple of days later, kind of like the Licks tour, but with songs from Steel Wheels to GRRR! with a couple of classics thrown in. It can be done! But won't...

1. Rough Justice
2. You Got Me Rocking
3. Sad Sad Sad
4. Oh No Not You Again
5. Highwire
6. Doom And Gloom
7. Laugh, I Nearly Died
8. Already Over Me
9. She Saw Me Coming
10. Mixed Emotions
11. Love Is Strong
12. Saint Of Me
13. You Don't Have To Mean It
14. Infamy
15. Out Of Control
16. Hold On To Your Hat
17. Gunface
18. Back Of My Hand
19. Brand New Car
20. Honky Tonk Women
21. Start Me Up
22. Brown Sugar
23. Satisfaction

Get rid of "You Got Me Rocking" , "Saint of Me" , and "Rough Justice" + replace them with something different and then we will be in business.

Will never happen, Licks concept was a one time tour.

Yes, and JohnnyBGoode already knew that.

I'd buy a ticket to see that.

... and it wasn't a smashing success either. Most of the song premiered during these '02 shows were pretty limp. I think Jagger learnt that lesson and we'll never see a rarities-laden setlist again.

Nice idea though. Might be worth choosing your favourite live performance of each song on that setlist and put together your own cd. Although i'm aware one or two of them haven't been done live but you get my drift.

This doesn't make any sense. If you want to talk about songs that were 'limp' on the 2002 tour, you can begin with "Sympathy for the Devil" , "Honkey Tonk Women" , and "Start Me Up" .

Songs premiered in 2002 ..... "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" (except for maybe '71) and "Worried About You" (except for El Mocambo '77) returned on subsequent tours.

"Ain't Too Proud to Beg" returned for the A.B.B. tour as well.

"Parachute Woman" and "Heart of Stone" and "Dance Pt. 1 / Pt. 2" were all pretty far from 'limp' .

"If You Can't Rock Me" was a staple for the first 3/4 of the tour. Don't judge it by the butchered 'Live Licks' bonus track.

Ditch "Infamy" in favor of "Thief in the Night" and replace "Already Over Me" with "Out of Tears," and I'm buying.

And, the encore must be JJF.

Please, let's start from 1986, not from 1989. Because I want "One Hit To The Body" to be in...

Anyone think "Doom And Gloom" will be played on the next leg, or in 2015?

I think we're both right. What I had in mind were the deep cuts played at the club-shows : Neighbours Don't Look Back and others. These didn't go so well.

But I saw a 2003 arena show and songs like IYCRMe or Mannish Boy were amazing!

It would be great to hear such a concert. I do not need people sing along to warhorses who are performed like Euro-Dance Songs.
