Hey, does anybody know? How do they cast the choirs? Whose decision is it, which choirs will appear on stage? Is it organised by the concert promoter or the RS office?
The Stones last year sandwiched their two Anaheim shows between their L.A. (Staples Center) shows. A friend is a music major at Long Beach State University and told me how thrilled his classmates in the Long Beach State choir were to sing with the Stones at the first Staples Center show. Then in Anaheim (where I saw both shows) the Stones used the University of Southern California choir. Then they returned to the Staples Center and I thought they'd also return to using the Long Beach State choir. But they used the USC choir (that I saw). I've wondered: did the Stones think the USC choir was better? Or did they just stick with the choir they used most recently in Anaheim because it was logistically easier? I asked my friend later, jokingly, if his choir friends had done anything lately to match their Stones gig, but he didn't even smile and didn't think it was funny. It made me wonder if his choir friends were hurt the Stones dumped them for those subsequent S. Calif. dates. Especially the 2nd L.A. one.
