Hi to all!
After quite a long time being inactive in here i just want to share my thoughts concerning the ticket selling. Tried to get tickets (GA-standing) right at the start of the presale. after hanging at oeticket because of the server problems i got quite angry.
somehow i can't believe that 50.000 people trying to get ticktes at the same time for a concert which is taking place on a monday (!) and which is announced only 2 1/2 months before even without confirmation from rs.com. if you have no confirmation and you book a hotel room - the cancelling of the tour is your problem (costs etc.).

what makes me angry is, that due to reports many travel agencies happily announce, they have "plenty" of tickets to give a away (lottery) a few minutes after presale started.
this has a bitter taste in my opinion.
where are the days when it was possible to go to a ticket shop and you got tickets you wanted for a decent price even a few days after sales started. only one provider for tickets (oeticket) is just a joke.

I'm trying to do this one on the cheap (well as cheap as I can) - two of us flying into Bratislava airport on Ryanair. Can anyone give me a quick heads up on how to get to Vienna from there. Any advice much appreciated. Cheers.

there is a direct bus route from bratislava airport straight to vienna - as easy as it gets!

While there are no regular tickets at Oeticket at this time, the Czech Eventim still has some - only sets and like one or two in each sector, but there are some: [www.eventim.cz]

I am just SO impressed with the efficiency of ticket vendors in Germany and Austria. I bought a ticket for Vienna on the 25th, it was shipped on the 26th, and I will receive it today in London on the 27th !

No idea - seems like the logical thing to dispatch the tickets as soon as they are sold.

Yes I agree, perfectly logical. Hence my question (in another thread also) - why can't UK ticket vendors do this ? Ticketmaster UK are THE worst offenders, I cannot think of the number of events that I've bought tickets for over the years, months and months in advance of the date of the event, and yet no tickets until perhaps ten days before the date in question. It's routine behaviour. I just don't understand why this should be.

My wife and I lucked out on regular GA standing tickets, but we managed to score two good seats in the lowest stand of sector C eventually. At slightly under €200 a pop, these are without doubt the most expensive tickets I ever bought for a rock concert. But I'm sure it will be worth every cent.

Since the tour 2003 I always bought ticket in an office in a small city in Austria.
This office is an official ticket seller shop and has direct contact to the öticketsystem.

In 2003 and 2006 I could easy buy front of stage ticket for Vienna shows.

On Monday this week I went to this office and spoke to the lady that this Tuesday is a very important day, because on 09.00 begins the ticket sale for Rolling Stones show.
I explained the ticket sell situation in Düsseldorf and Berlin, Rome, etc.
She said Ok no problem, we can print the ticket.

So I went on Tuesday at 08.30 to this office and said I need 7 standing GA tickets. (The 98 Euro ones)
The system opens in 09.00 said the lady and we waited.

At 09.00 she could enter in the system and she shouted: there is no more standing tickets ! All sold out !
No, I said the ticket sale begun right now, they can not sell 20.000 -30.000 standing tickets under 1 sec! Maybe thy system broken down.
No, she answered, I can buy some seat tickets for you, the system is activ.
Then she said, oh! right now I can buy 1 standing ticket for you,
OK, I answered, go ahead !
No, error she reply. Unbelivable ! I can not beleive this ! All sold out ! She said 100x times. I have been never lived that ! (by the way she was really pretty girl )

This kind of nerve-racking conversation went till 09.15.
At 09.15 she was able to reserve 7 tickets and turned me:
686 Euro do you have enough money ?
PRINT !!! I shouted ! Yes of course I have 686 Euro.

Thanks my God !
Then I called up my friends and shouted happy: We got it !!

So this way I could buy tickets for me and my friends on Tuesday morning.

The same chaos was in a Budapest office. They opened earlier to start selling tickets at 9 for The Rolling Stones in Vienna. In the beginning was the same chaos and we (about 40 people) could get our tickets 1 hour later. I was very nervous, but in the end I got my GA tickets!!!

No, but my oeticket account says "1 purchased," which means it was not printed yet.

I received an email this morning at 08:52 with a tracking number from DHL.

That was quite impressive, I got the tickets in about 20 hours since they were picket up by DHL

Tickets arrived this morning

I haven't received my tickets yet. Not even printed yet.
