BVJ Paris Louvre
FUAJ Jules Ferry

Peace & Love
Plug-Inn
St Christopher's Inn
The Loft
Woodstock Hostel

Hope this helps someone.

Has anyone ever visited one of these patisseries?

Gerard Mulot
Laduree
Stohrer

If not, any recommendations?

I know the three.
Go to Pierre Hermé, better imho, but a bit more expensive also.
The Ispahan is to die.
Gérard Mulot is not far from Hermé in the St Sulpice area so you can compare.

Yes, Prefer the St Sulpice shop than the Vaugirard one, the area is much nicer.
There is some queue sometime, but less than for a stones show.

Of course! The Laduree main store is a 2 minute walk from the Four Seasons, where the Stones typically stay. They make hose light as air macaroons in multi-colors. Awesome. In 2006, I saw all the band as they passed through the lobby. They keep out all fans, but I was wearing a suit and tie and carrying a brief case.

Some cafes and cheap eats. This list comes from one of travel guides. No idea of how they are and where they are in relation to the stadium. Hope this helps someone and if you have any experience with these places, give your opinion.

Of course, it depends what you want.
Do you prefer to go to the places where tourist go or where parisians go?
They are not always the same.

yeah that's the dilemna with Paris : "authentic" must-go places are quite often tourist traps deprived of any authenticity.

Take the rue St. Louis-en L'Ile: it has ZERO authenticity, everything there is for tourists but guess what? On week-ends everyone stolls there happy, me included!

There are many good affordable restaurants that are not tourist traps.

I can recommend some if you post what area and kind of food you are interested in.

Two major department stores serve good food at very reasonable prices.
In pleasant surroundings and an opportunity to go to the top of the stores for terrific views. They are Galeries Lafayette and Printemps.

What is a non-tourist trap for crepes, ice cream, coq au vin and escargot.

BERTHILLON!! The best 4 Euros I've ever spent - for one small boule of amazing vanilla ice cream!! You can get Berthillon in some cafes in Paris, but, if you are in Paris for a day or two, the main store on the Ile St Louis is lovely.

Any talk about a meeting place the day/night before the show? In 2007 we met in a nice little bar Bar LE SOUS-BOCK 49 RUE SAINT-HONORE, 75001 PARIS
Per Google maps, it's still there....

Bonjour Fellow Stones Fans,

I am in need of some oppinions and advice. Due to the ticket (perlouse debout) I decided to go on the day of the concert with the thallys cause we wont be able to see anything upclose anyway, making waiting before the stadium a little exegerated (normally do tongue sticking out smiley).

I can be in paris between 9:30 and 12:30 depending on the train I take. we are only staying 1 day in paris to fly to Vienna the next day. So I need a hotel that we can stay at for one night that I'd have to check in the day we arrive before going to the stadium and that is easily accesable to go to after the concert.

I was browsing through some hotels and came up with three hotels.
Suite Novotel Paris Porte de la Chapelle
Adagio Paris Vincennes

Hôtel du Lac d'Enghien les Bains

any suggestions or general tips?

@MAF: exact, they sell tickets + bus (or only bus) from Bruxelles or Mons.

You can see this website page in English:

Apparently for Bruxelles there are still tickets + bus from Bruxelles/place Rogier to Paris - pit cat 1: 163€ and cat 2: 153€.
They give you your ticket when you are in the bus.

"L'escargot", at rue Montorgeuil has a nice escargots selection. Their "canard à l'orange" is fine also. The place is nice.
For the crepes, you must see around the gare Montparnasse area, a lot of creperies there.
I am not keen on ice cream (I am more into lamb brains, sweetbread, quenelles...), so I can't really advice you.
Berthillon is the most famous in Paris.

Riquet is a mxed area :
you have the hip "104" art center which serves food too, you have the hip MK2 movie theaters where you can eat too... and you have the HQ of crack and Skenan (a sort of French hyper-strong Vicodin) consumption around the Stalingrad/canal area.

So you have to be careful where you go, Od... I mean Odeon! grinning smiley

Our Hotel is based around a canal, lets hope its the 'good' part.

Thanks for the info.

I received my VIP tickets (yes, I couldn't resist...).

They clearly state that they will give access to the tongue pit....

Any news on the European stadium stage set-up?

"Tongue Pit" ? Odd...can you scan it (with blurred codes?).

The official Paris seating plans I've seen are :

With the rumoured capacity of the "Pelouse VIP" being 2200 vs 400 for the "Tongue Pit".

It's hard to imagine they won't have a catwalk/b-stage in Paris too since someone posted it was a contractual requirement for Pinkpop and Mick uses it a lot.

Damn, cited it wrong. It is called "VIP tongue".
So, no mention of a pit, but a tongue.

I'll try to add a pic, but here you can find some info as well: [www.eventtravel.com]
The entry "porte N" looks almost backstage....
