I'd echo what others have been saying about openning with a Chuck Berry tune. Let It Rock, Little Queenie, Sweet Little Rock n Roller, etc... Any good rock n roll tune. Hell, they should bringout another Buddy Holly tune. They would be able to pulloff an INCREDIBLE version of Crying Waiting Hoping.

The opening of Rolling Stones concerts are legendary.....they must open with a smash hit.......some of you call them Warhorses.....I call them hits!

How about something they NEVER play that would:

a) put them in the earliest possible historical context, and at the same time

b) be familiar to almost everyone in the audience, but for the wrong reason, and would therefore

c) be a nod and wink to the knowledgeable few
