They asked fans on Facebook a few days ago to say their favourite song (any song at all) and that the top 6 songs will be chosen for voting for Abu Dhabi's setlist. The top 6 songs are:

Gimme Shelter
Angie
Paint it Black
Ruby Tuesday
Beast of Burden
Wild Horses

"Gimme Shelter" is leading currently and "Paint it Black" is second but I find this pointless. Wouldn't they play GS and PiB even without a voting? It would have been better if they had chosen only non-warhorses.

Where can you see, that Gimme Shelter is leading?

No surprise, it's probably the favourite Stones song at all and if the mayority of people don't understand, that the Stones most probably would play the song anyway, so that it would be the chance to nominate something rare instead, even if not THE FaVOURITE, Gimme Shelter will win at every venue.

I voted for "Angie" from the six given songs.

Well, if I were going and had never seen the Stones before I'd vote for GS. Otherwise, Ruby Tuesday. Or maybe Wild Horses. Dang, this is hard!

You really think they won't play at least one of the others, if they don't win? Say, no Gimme Shelter or Paint it Black, if Ruby Tuesday wan? What, if the list consisted of Miss You, Sympathy, Brown Sugar, Satisfaction, Jumpin Jack Flash and Honky Tonk Women?
Well, that would really be a surprise. But I can't imagine this to be the case. We'll see, how this works. Now I'm a bit curious.

Beautiful day in Abu Dhabi for Stones fans! Poolside now with 5 hours to showtime. Time to get the engines revving!

Just worked out the time zones and was guessing it was around another five hours to go.

What with the olympics < curling final > stones concert and the rugby later on < wales v France > its going to be a busy day.

However pointless this may be, I suspect some fans are still pissed off because they can't vote for Satisfaction!

Because the question was: what's your favourite Stones' song and the average 'fan', well...

I completely agree though that the question should have been: which rarity would you like to be played? After which of course a completely different list of options could and should have been suggested, since if you'd let it to the Stones, they'd introduce Ruby Tuesday as a rarity.

Made it to Abu Dhabi yesterday, had a snooze by the pool and now it's....showtime !!!!.....going to head over to Du Arena area in plenty of time. There's a free shuttle bus from the hotel but as the Premier Inn is jam-packed with Stones fans I think they'll need more than 1.Not taking any chances !!! Anticipation here is really mounting. Hope to see a few IORRians in the Fire Pit later !

Gates open 7 h 30, means the show starts at...?

Been asked by loads of people what time the show will start. Early bird ticket holders go in at 6.30, everyone else 7.30 so my guess is 8.30/9.00 ??? Premier Inn have a shuttle bus coming back from Du Arena at 10.15 so they obviously have no idea !!
