Nazareth played Vancouver quite regularly, usually at one of the casinos. They were just in Chilliwack, near Vancouver a couple months ago.

He is 66, a mere youngster compared to Mick Jagger. He retired due to chronic lung problem while Mick and Keith carry on!!!

Second show I ever saw, Expect No Mercy Tour Spring '78. It was great. Nazareth were really big here in Canada and I remember that every cool older brother or sister had Loud 'n' Proud when we were kids. Best Wishes to Dan and the boys. They were just here in Victoria a few months ago and I think they had to cut it short a little that night, too.

OT but I remember a David Johansen where he said made more money from the G&R cover of "Human Being" than from his own entire career... eye popping smiley

Good thing G&R didn't choose to cover "Chatterbox or "Born To Lose" instead >grinning smiley<

Nazareth's latter day single, "Light Comes Down" is fantastic. Sorry to hear he is retiring. Hope he has a good retirement!

My friend just turned me on to Nazareth a couple of days ago. I knew the obvious songs, but that was about it. Went to my local record store and picked up "Expect No Mercy." Rockin' out!

I still swing Indian Clubs and Nazareth came out with this album with vintage cigarette cards that showed Indian Club Swinging. By the way, I haven't heard much of this album but have read reviews. This album was from before Nazareth found their niche with albums like 'Hair of the Dog'. All Music Guide says this album "Exercises" sounds a bit like say a band like Badfinger.

My friend from Australia is Paul Taras Wolkowinski and he's really obsessed with Indian Clubs, maybe expert is a better description, he has his own Youtube channel. I think he goes a bit over the top sometimes but instructional videos nonetheless. When I say OTT, Over the top, bless his heart but I don't think we really need a Christmas video of Indian Club swinging and his wearing a Santa Cap, but to each their own.

But the below shows how it is done. I like doing this because people from a century ago did exercises like this, it's kind of fun. If you ever buy a pair, look around. There are expensive sets and also relative cheap sets (see MotionRX). It's good for the shoulder socket. In gyms a century ago, these "Indian Clubs" were very popular. They have even been in two Olympics but a long time ago, 1934 LA and some other Summer Olympics as well.

But they did do You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory, so Johnny's estate got paid on two songs. Probably a good chunk of what his descendants are fighting over now.

Not at all into Nazareth, but I went to their website. The sole remaining member is the bass player. They hired a new singer and are still touring.
