Bob Dylan's new Bootleg Series comes with a leaflet announcing the release of a 41 CD box called "The Complete Album Collection" in fall 2013

It is said that the collection will also include two CDs with rarities (non-album tracks, singles, soundtrack songs etc.)

I am annoyed about this, as I already have the complete SACD collection, and the remastered New Morning.

The strange thing is that CDs are on their way out. Young listeners go for streaming and vinyl. I'm waiting for my whole cd collection to become worthless...

Oh, you won't have to wait long! I'm downsizing my CD collection and am shocked at its apparent worthlessness. Boxed sets, even. DVDs are even more useless. Sell 'em all now.

As I don't know the head of marketing of Sony I went for the easiest option: the artist...as he probably agrees with the release and his name is on the front cover.

If somebody releases an album, I don't always search for who's original idea it was to release it.

most of these artists don't have any say if things like this come out or not. probably dylan and simon get input but the guys in blue oyster cult wanted something different and the guys in kansas and the byrds said sony just repacked all the remasters from the 90's together without asking the band anything. like i said there are literally dozens of these sets out there. just look van morrison released a statement asking fans to not purchased the expanded moondance coming out because he had no input on it
