Absolutely agreed! So successful was it I too do see it as a studio album in it's own right
I put it on i-pod with the title "Spare Parts" and used the artwork for the 'Spare Parts' single as the album cover!
Some sterling stuff on there, fantastic album

IMO,
The second disc is so good it deserves it's own album title, CD2 doesn't quite cut it..
"It plays like a whirlwind desperate to survive" is my description of it's essence.
:: I believe the intent of the original recordings, has been augmented by the additional vocals, guitars and so forth. Giving us a genuinly unique hybrid, that give's rise to the possibly of this going further, so successful is this collection in delivering the goods::

Had it not been for punk and Jagger's need to compete and be perceived as trendy, disc 2 might have been the actual release instead.

I was just playing it this evening, and thinking it was the best Stones album after Some Girls CD 1. Some really great songs on there.

You know some times the first idea is the best one, it's just a case of recognising it.
"Spare Parts" sounds pretty darn good to my ears, so it shall be named as such in the collection.
