No, I'm thinking double CD including about 40 tracks recorded as part of one project - as opposed to a collection of old recordings thrown together

I've been listening to this all weekend. Amazing album. But I got to thinking that a similar album covering a range of great Stones tracks would be a really great idea. You could certainly have fun compiling a wish list of artists and what songs they could do.

I don't believe it would work for the Stones songs. Dylan, Beatles, McCartney, Lennon...yes.

I know there's been been some decent covers over the years (maybe that would be best, collect all the best covers...limited to 10 or 12 best and include video disc of performances?). But the bulk of Stones songs are just not coverable (not sure that's a word)...and that I can only see and hear the Stones record and perform.

The same for someone like Springsteen...

Not sure why this was moved into the Beatles thread when it's actually more about the Stones.
