. Brian's non-guitar contributions are usually brilliant. But I don't buy this "the Stones didnt find themselves til '68" idea - they had the vision & personality & confidence & talent by '64 and were clearly world class, influencing the Byrds, all mid 60s US garage punk, etc long before BB, and of course were taking giant steps (like all the greats) in '66-'68...And Keith was integrating Hendrix into his own dryer conception on Buttons (All Sold Out, etc) - I mean compare the quite spotty first 2 Kinks to the first 2 Stones albums (and I love the Kinks) - thank god those Kinks albums are expanded on cd...
