Does anyone know if Mick Taylor will play more than 1 tune a night?

I've got a ticket to the first Boston and LA shows. If they ever confirm the date I can make plane reservations. I'd love to see Mick Taylor play Sway, Can't You hear me knocking, etc. Rambler is great but we need to see himon more than 1 song.

keith Richards sais in a video, posted somewhere on this site, (I believe it was Jimmy Fallon) that they have multiple guitar parts in each song and that it will be interesting to see how it works out with three guitars on stage, So, yes, Mick Taylor will be touring with them and he will be used in more than one song.

The question is, AGAIN haha, which song(s)? CERTAINLY, he will be doing Midnight Rambler each night. I hope they let him solo on Sympathy, and I hope they play a song geared toward another solo... see all old posts about the 5 shows in London, Brooklyn, and Newark.

That would be great if that's the case. Why not just finish the last hour of the show doing Ya-Ya's from start to finish??? smiling smiley

I too wish they would do Ya-Yas start to finish again! lol Mind you, I don't think they could execute it as perfectly as they did there. That album is an absolute inspiration to me. The sound of the guitars and the passion of the playing is pure perfection to my ears!

That it is and by the way, MT, isn't that big anymore. He's losing weight and taking care of himself. This is going to be fun.

I think that once the first gig MT is playing, has been and gone ,we will have some idea of what's in store.
The Rolling Stones these days is very regimented and will probably stay in the same pattern, but I hope not. eye rolling smiley

I do hope that MT will play a big part in a varied set list. >grinning smiley<

when the marquee goes up at the first gig, we'll know more. If this is billed as "Mick Taylor and his Rolling Stones," then I suspect he's playing on more than one song...

it wouldnt make any sense for mick to be on the tour and travel to all those shows for one song a night.

it wouldnt make any sense for him or the band.and the way keith was talking on jimmy fallon it seems ol mick t has found a place in the stones once again-expect a mini-set of him on guitar.

i would guess anywhere from 2 to 4 songs.

that's a pretty wide range...could you narrow it down a bit?

I've always wondered what that album would sound like with live vocals on it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they use him extensively, meaning for most of the show.

He'd have to steer well clear of Charlie in that case.

Three guitars on Rambler was really unnecessary. Taylor should be doing numbers like Moonlight Mile or Can't You Hear Me Knocking where his playing could make an impact.
Let's hope for something like that.

What are the chances MT will be playing the entire show, given KR's comments about having three guitars on stage?

depends on if Jagger has any interest in musical risk -taking..

or if he stays to the expected Taylor songs..

I think MT would fit really well into Miss You or The Last Time, and nicely on Paint It Black ..

@dukeR
Mick Taylor doing a solo right after the bass solo on Miss You. thumbs up
MickT will be on more tunes and featured more as the tour progresses based on how he does in previous shows. IOW he will be promoted based on performances

I can definitely hear him fitting in on The Last Time. Could he still pull off his old solo spots from Gimme Shelter and Dead Flowers?

just don't seem right for him to play on two songs...

all that guitar and 2 songs?

he's got guitar for 7 or 8 songs..

it is a big decision for them to make, however..

(Street Fighting Man..Gimme Shelter..Sympathy..Live With Me..)

I'd have him play on SFTD, HTW, DF, BS, MR, SFM and maybe finish off his segment with GS. But only two songs? That would be a monumental injustice!

Midnight Rambler is a given.
I thought I read somewhere that Moonlight Mile and Can't You Hear Me Knockin' were rehearsed for the 2012 shows... so those might be part of the set.

God... I'm not gonna last. This is just too much excitement!

Yes he is. Do you honestly find it that difficult to find out yourself?

It took me less than 10 seconds.

Another idea that I don't see is that he and Ronnie could play bass on certain numbers.
