Set list: Mick Jagger says, he's open to our suggestions. Any ideas? (For people without Twitter)
Date: April 5, 2013 04:27

Hint: I did a counting of the song suggestions for the next tour by posters on this forum, based on several recent set list related threads. First done on page 3 of this thread, updated on page 6.

My original post:

Mick said in an interview, that he is apparently open to song suggestions for the coming set lists by fans. He (or his representative) also tweeted and asked for songs, people would like to hear. Let's presume, he really is interested in the wishes of people in this matter and not just saying so publicly to keep fans busy and in good spirits, which songs do you suggest? Maybe Mick or somebody from the Stones camp reads this, so fans without Twitter will be heard, too. Or, in case you use Twitter, which songs have you suggested?

Apart from the usual ones like "Jumpin Jack Flash", "Satisfaction" and "Sympathy", I would like to hear something else (a little less frequently and rarely played songs):

"Bitch"
"Monkey Man"
"Can't you hear me knocking"
"Parachute Woman"
"Ventilator Blues"
"Stop breaking down"
"Can't be satisfied"
"Heartbreaker"
"Factory Girl"
"Backstreet Girl"
"No Expectations"
"Play with fire"
"Heart of Stone"
"Beast of Burden"
"Have you seen your mother baby"
"Child of the Moon".

Could they actually perform "We love you", that would be a really funny and nice surprise, maybe with a special guest on piano?

If Mick Taylor plays, "Love in Vain" is a must!

Some 'new' ones like especially "Do you think I really care" (I like this Some Girls deluxe track very much, why not do something with these bonus tracks live in general?)

And from the really newer ones "It won't take long", maybe "Rain fall down" and "Back of my hand" (but no "Streets of Love", please). "Out of Control" from the November show was very good. "One hit to the body" could be good, too. "Doom and Gloom" will be played anyway.

Also of course "Going home" and the great "The spider and the fly" are favourites, but I don't know if they work in an arena?

Would also be cool if they could include "Just want to see his face" as an (instrumental) bridge between two songs somehow, maybe in a kind of medley.

"Happy" with Keith AND Mick together once again would be very special. If not, Keith should do something else at some venues, "Happy" is performed too often by him (Maybe "We had it all" ).

I'd be thrilled to hear any of the Exile or Some Girls bonus tracks. For a real oldie, I nominate Down Home Girl; I bet that would really groove live

At 3.30 a live version of "We Love You" starts...I think it will work live....maybe the London Choir to back up the vocals

Sorry, if I didn't notice that. But I'm a bit confused, since it says "Date: April 5, 2013 04:27" for the start of my thread and "Date: April 5, 2013 17:43" for Tele's. Doesn't that mean, mine was first? confused smiley

See also Set Lists and Song Requests for Mick Jagger, started by 71Tele.

Is it possible to merge both threads? Don't know, how to to this.

In Hyde Park, that's a great idea (I won't be there, but I would love to watch a video about it)!

If they want a special guest on this, they could ask Paul McCartney, since he did backing vocals on the record then. McCartney could play piano and join the background singers Lisa and Bernard (plus maybe Chuck Leavell and Darryl Jones and Keith and Ronnie also doing backing vocals). Chuck maybe on organ or keyboard, I don't know if this can replace the mellotron from the recording, since I'm not sure about what the mellotron actually plays there. Does the mellotron play what sounds like an organ a bit?
