They will do a small set of shows in North America this summer, with a side trip to Glastonbury. It's all agreed upon by the band. Now it is up to the PR people to arrange for a nice announcement, coming soon. No other shows in mainland Europe but they will take care of all of those who do not have Glastonbury tickets with something extra.

I am disappointed for us, people in Europe. Glastonbury is already sold-out and full of people who don't care about them. This 'something extra' won't be enough for all the european fans, we needed a real --even short-- tour...

This is a little bit unclear. No shows in Europe but something extra....I suppose we have to wait.

It is supposed to be a surprise. I don't want to ruin that part. If you live in USA you will be well covered both East Coast and West Coast. More than a handful shows but not a lot. If you live if Europe you need to travel. Not far but don't expect them to come to your doorstep.

For the first time , there will be a live stream from Glastonbury Festival on BBC Television ! :

For the first time in the event’s extensive history, Glastonbury 2013 organisers have announced that the entire event will be live streamed via the BBC, who will be sending the festive shenanigans directly to desktop, mobiles, tablets and connected TVs the world over and offering viewers the option to select which stage they wish to enjoy.

Bv mentioned mainland Europe, I imagine then that us poor Uni students in the UK may have one last chance to see them in the Uk? Plus Bv mentioned the other day that London is only a short flight from most places.....

Thanks for the updates Bv! smileys with beer

Something extra - like Hard Rock Calling in the Olympic Stadium perhaps?

Wonderful news...my Glastonbury ticket is secured, and for once we are going in a camper van so luxury. It will be an amazing experience to see them play the Pyramid stage, the vibe at Glastonbury is something else.

Glastonbury always has a live feed to TV and it's not PPV, so people will see the majority of their set unless Jagger restricts what is filmed.

I am so happy!

Didn't I say this (in different wording)? Is BV getting his info from me? eye popping smiley

To those of you who are feeling 'left out' ....... fear not. They will do their best to cover all their bases.

This WILL be the 'last time' for a rather large-scale tour. That said, the Stones love to surprise us!

As for me, I'm leaving today to spend the spring-summer-fall "up North". HOWEVER, I will be returning to TORONTO when the time is right. (Please read between the lines!!)grinning smiley

I would not be surprised if they do a couple more open air events in an area near Glastonbury. That is the plan. So just check the calendar near the Glastonbury date, and keep in mind they are busy in USA for most of June. The Olympic stadium sounds like very natural logistics wise.

HardRock calling is on at June 29 and 30. referring to BV´s last post, ...

I get a very warm feeling they will play here.

Just hoping and praying.

I'm not sure how Hard Rock works in terms of performance, would they be able to play a 2 hr set like a normal show or will they be limited like acts in other festivals? If its a full show then I can't bloody wait hot smiley

As the plan goes now (before the lawyers get involved fully) there will also be an open air festival somewhere IN CANADA.

I remember reading this in January, it is starting to seem logical now, perhaps wishful thinking on my part but.....

"A further standalone event for up to 40,000 fans will be announced shortly"

London Evening Standard has talked of a possible show at the Barclaycard British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park.

Like Hard Rock Calling, festival dates coincide with Glastonbury's.

Either way in both options the price i paid for a rafter seat in the 02 last year £150 (although actually much better view and sound than I thought) practically gets you to the front of the stage in these festivals so win win! thumbs up
