Maybe , but it's still a cut above One More Shot and Doom and Gloom.

Loved Clapton up till about 1975-- these days I just cant get into him, don't know why--
Last things I liked from him was the Cream reunion discs and the live disc he did with Steve Winwood
my favorites from him have been his 1st solo album, the Delaney & Bonnie album, Derek & Dominoes, the London Howlin Wolf Sessions
I think what put me off the most about him was reading his autobiography-- the way he treated his women and friends just disgusted me--
As a guitarist he's one of the greats, but as a person, not so.

Much of Clapton's negative behaviour could be attributed to drink or drugs. Of course nobody could ever accuse any of the Stones of any such thing.

Seems like EC has never been so active - studio and the road - since he announced his retirement a few years ago. Maybe that's the strategy that the Stones should consider.

Maybe , but it's still a cut above One More Shot and Doom and Gloom. When he sings a new song he sounds like he means it - unlike the Stones.

I think his autobiography was explendid. Finally an honest person !
And he treated people (somewhat) badly (not REALLY badly) when being on the bottle; after getting on his feet again, he's a gentleman. Don't see how one can dislike Clapton because of his autobiography, unless you got some kind of "anti-Clapton agenda", like MunichHilton, and some other IORR wackos have....not that Munich is a wacko.
The autobiography shows humour, self-irony and humbleness. Great book
Not as good as Dylan's autobiography of course, and a bit lower than Mac's, but way better than Keiths or Ronnie Woods

Generally-speaking, I find it loathesome to be speaking ill of the dead. But, I believe an exception is appropriate here.

I don't follow. Make your point less generally...

I doubt if StonesTod invented the line. Sounds like this StonesTod dude was a little full of himself.
