History question: Howard Hesseman and the Rolling Stones?

hi -- someone mentioned tonight that she remembered reading somewhere that Howard Hesseman
hung out with the Stones at one point in time. I don't recall reading that but am sure it's
possible.

There's the Ethan Russell photos of the Stones in a Vegas casino (Nov 11 or 12, 1969), that shows
Howard Hesseman in the frame. Also, the TV promo of the 1969 show "Music Scene" features Howard
Hesseman. But those are the only shards of info I have.

What more do you know re: Howard Hesseman and the Stones?

thanks
swiss

When I saw this subject line, I thought Keith had found a new lead singer to tour with.

Yeah, listen, we'd love to stand around and chat, but we've gotta...sit down in the lobby and wait for the limo.

On WKRP, he had a picture on his apartment wall of him with Mick Jagger. In one episode, his daughter and her boyfriend come to stay with him. The boyfriend points out the picture, which I had always noticed and says "wow , you know Mick Jagger... Can you put in a good word for me...Keith Richards can't last forever". Fever replies, "I'll let him know. We're going swimming tomorrow," sarcastically.

He was in an improv group called The Committee out of SF that made some noise for a while, on the Smothers Brothers Show, too.

All those lines from Spinal Tap -- classic! thanks all, for posting them--I know that movie forward and back (most of us do, probably) His role in Spinal Tap was priceless - so deadpan and jaded but not over the top. And I can totally picture him delivering that Johnny Fever line about swimming with Mick Jagger winking smiley

Years ago I asked about this but was shut down.

Opening night 1972, I'm five back from the stage, dead center. Howard Hessman is freash out of his role in Billy Jack were he did what I think was the first open mocking of smoking pot skit. I swear it was him who made the band intro. He was just as in the movie.

He had a romantic relationship of sorts with Janis Joplin, he's spoken about that.
