hello,

are there any pubs open on sunday in london? Cause a friend and I we fly the next morning back to germany and we want to stay somewhere for the night and drink somewhere. the best would be near Liverpool Street but it is not a must have. I looked on the internet but all the pubs i found close very early on sunday.

Most of the larger hotels will have late bars. Where are you staying?

The bars in the O2 will be open for some time after the gig, I would say.

i think there are a lot of fans here that will fly the next morning so maybe someone who knows london could tell us a pub where we could meet each other after the show

Do you mean somewhere to go and drink after the gig?

If so, I think you'll find it pretty hard locating a pub that stays open after midnight on a Sunday....

12bar club, Denmark street, in front of Regent's sounds studio where the stones recorded in the 60s.

In terms of staying somewhere all night you're into unknown territory for me. I'm sure there will be some shady clubs open all hours in London but generally you'll be gone by 1am in most places.

St. Giles hotel bar is fan friendly and venue of some legendary after showssmileys with beer

Bedford Ave. off Tottenham court road. We will be starting and finishing there as we are guests . I think quite a few others will be staying or calling in.

I just hope your flight is on time. I would be much to nervous. Anyway it will take you a while to get into London first and also to get out as Stanstead is quite out of London. So Travelling will be your nightclubbing. Make sure you don't miss the connection out of London to Stanstead very early on Monday morning.

I am flying over to London now and I will find a decent pub where we can meet up both during the week and on Sunday. Info coming by tomorrow at the latest. It will be central London. I do know exactly how it should look like, but suggestions from locals would be great. I stayed in the Oxford Circus last week, some were ok, I think my favorite The Hog in the Pound near Bond Street is gone now, but we will find one with lots of space, great beer on tap and also the best food especially fish'n'ships.

i was in a similar situation after the last 02 gig.

no hotel, so i had planned to spend a lot of time in a pub near victoria then get the 24hour service bus to stansted.

unfortunately i ran out of money at the o2 and went straight to stansted early, arriving at 2am, had to spend another 6 hours at stansted and that was no fun.

buses from victoria-stansted run all night so dont worry about spending too much time in a pub, if you find one.

last time I was in London we travelled via "Terravision" from London to Stanstead. This time we will try the Stanstead Express vom Liverpool Street. I hope that will work as easy.....

Bjornulf - try the Jack Horner on Tottenham Court Road, 2 mins walk from St Giles Hotel. We signposted this pub for Licks tour in 2002 and has been a big fan favourite since then. Decent transport links and very central location. [jackhornerpub.co.uk]

London pubs don't tend to open all night however hotel bars do stay open for residents/guests. Whether this will be until the sun comes up on Monday morning will be at the discretion of the individual hotel staff.

You may strike it lucky and stumble upon a drinking club but these places are very private and hard to find.

Good luck and keep on Rolling!

I had the same thoughts in London last year and ended up walking the streets till the first train in the morning. In the end we discovered a casino open and bought a couple of coffees to warm our chiiled bones! Good luck.

ps had good fun being cycled around London by a rickshaw at 4am!

The 12Bar closes early on Sundays

Monday - Saturday: 7pm till 3am
(may close earlier)

Sunday: 7pm till 12.30pm

Another option may be an all night buger bar like the Golden Egg back in the '60s

Can't recommend the St Giles hotel and the Jack Horner pub enough! The vibe when there's a Stones gig on in London in those places is electric. Cannot, cannot wait.

Hi Tom,

St Giles Hotel; Bedford Avenue, WC1B 3GH. (Basically, off Tottenham Court Road)

The Jack Horner; 234/236 Tottenham Court Road, W1T 7QJ.

They are 3 minutes walk from each other.

See you there!?

So Jack Horner it is then! I'll head over on Saturday afternoon / evening, anybody else plan to be there? Wear something stonesy so that I can identify you...it's been a few years and some of us don't age too well.

Jack Horner sounds like a nice pub. I will check it out. But I do expect them to server beer by the right glasses...

You sound like your weakening...can I presume you'll at least be in London the day of the show, looking for scalpers tix on the cheap?

Yes. Pilote Inn is the place to be pre-show. As they say - just a Stones' throw from the O2 arena...
