After it was mentioned in another thread yesterday, last night I sat down to watch Channel 4's documentary 'Dispatches: The Great Ticket Scandal'.

As you might have guessed it deals with secondary market practices.

Highly informative, highly recommended!

Find it at Channel 4:

For those of us who can't watch it due to geographical restrictions it's also on youtube:

It takes about 45 mins.

If this is what's going on now, you didn't have a chance in the first place.

I've seen that years ago. Nothing new for me.

I think the documentary was made last January...

But the practice is nothing new, no doubt, if that's what you mean.

So... how come Viagogo are still in business after that.

And what's more... why the hell is Live Nation in business because they were taking 90% of the secondary sales prices.

Surely someone did something about all this?

(That's sarcasm).

That MP did, though largely from personal experience. I don't think she made much of an impression to be honest.

It appears that, after an initial uproar, everybody just went on with their business.

Oh by the way, the documentary is not even digging into the fact that there appears to be a family relation between ticketmaster and the scalpers. That must be because viagogo is the subject of investigation, and not getmein. It would have given yet another insight into this business.
