Stones Fans And The SEXes

Didn't the proportion of male to female fans change from the sixties to the seventies?

Around the same time when girl fans stopped screaming at concerts (but years before fans started singing alongwith every song) and people started to actually listen to the music (and get stoned)...

In recent years, are there more male Stones fans than females? (Proportionally speaking...) Was that less true in the mid-sixties?

Discuss...

One thing is for sure: Stones doesn't have the demographics Sir Michael would have wanted - young female models. From the hip: 85 % men, 15 % women. 2/3 over 40. Just guessing.

I went from Sierra Nevada to Fosters to Red Hook to Tecate to Keystone.

I remember each of them was nice, but I think Exile sounds best with Keystone.

Difficult question...............I think in the very early years most of them were man/boys at least if I look at the concert from '64 Kurhaus Holland (80/20) I think later on (60/40) or maybe (50/50) in '69 .........I think with the Bigger Bang (70/30)

That wasn't just because of the music... or was it?
Wasn't that from a combination of being a Stones fan and surgery?

Apart from a short time at the beginning the Stones have always been more of a "Boys'" band.

no...just a natural aging process, i think. it affects 2 out of 3 fans, from the journals i've read.

If Mick put on about 60 pounds, he wouldn't look like a queen anymore, he'd look like THE Queen.

Sounds like the many male fans is nothing new, according to Mick below (with Liz Derringer in HIGH TIMES in 1979):

Jagger: Four blokes with guitars running about the stage, I mean, really, in two lines, that’s it, isn’t it?...as a form of entertainment, it’s amazing it’s survived.
High Times: Yeah, but I just get so sexually turned on by seeing a rock star.
Jagger: Well, that’s what it’s about. It’s getting sexually excited. Why do all these boys get sexually turned on who are not homosexuals?
High Times: ‘Cause they want to be doing it—what you’re doing—and have girls getting off on them.
Jagger: But that’s there, they do want to be doing it, but it’s still a sexual turn-on. I’ve never been able to discover the reason because we always had at least half the audience boys. And some points in my life, it’s been more.
