I'm feeling cynical these days. Hope The Rolling Stones don't miss the chance to make it right and give us fans something great. Yeah I know they don't owe us anything, but somehow they do.

I've got it!!!!!!!!!! They will play a one off concert from a floating stage on the Thames, moored in front of the London Eye, there will be a lottery to gain entry and each ticket being £350.00. You get to watch them from the London Eye for one rotation, with a free cocktail and finger bowl snacks thrown in.

I think the Stones themselves realize how long we have waited and because of that I think we will hear something pretty soon. The documentary is great but their first live performance in over five years is what most fans are looking forward to. The announcement on that will be considered huge, but the actual night they take the stage will be beyond huge.

Now, this, we can agree on. I really don't care to see anymore stadium shows. That stage was cold and almost evil looking in appearance.

It was beyond gaudy. The Bridges stage was the best of all of them I think, as far as these big spectacle tours go, especially with the bridge. Licks was good, way more simple. Voodoo was cool. Steel Wheels was cool. Bang was atrocious.

My favorite part of ABB was the B-Stage and car that carried The Stones there. Plus I really liked the intro video, actually I liked all videos during the last tours. Wish they would put them on DVD. Even though Voodoo Lounge is kind of looked down on here at IORR, it's my favorite stage and tour. Licks comes in second only because there wasn't a supporting album, the "fruit of the loom" idea was great. I got to do that in Munich. What could a new tour bring? I'm sure it would be magical.

My fear is... that it will be along time before the announcement is made!!

I dont think its the Stones who have gone mad at all. Their fanbase clearly have though, as they appear to constantly get worked up over nothing. Four pages and over 100 posts on this thread proves it.

sure, but i think that's just their standard auto-response when sending any inquiry.

sad to say, but speculation is less fun given that they're already chosen. Nothing we say or do will influence the choices for the releases.

Given that, it seems to me that the only era not covered so far is the Brian Jones era, so I'd love to see one representing those days. Then I think they'd want something later than 1990; but given that that was the template for the past twenty years or so it limits their options. So, perhaps the last two will be a compilation of a few shows from the Brian era; and a "double release" of El Macombo and the Light The Fuze show. That means they're really covered their career by adding to all these recent releases:

1969-71: Ya-yas re-release with extra tracks
1972/73 - Brussels Affair
1975/76 - LA Friday
1978 - Fort Worth release
1981- Hampton
1989/90 - Tokyo Dome

not to mention all the live albums released over the years...
