Suggest for a title: 5 years working, 45 years hang around...

With 99 percents certainty we will never see a Charlie Watts biography. At least not one approved by himself.

I don't think that we will se it. But it would definitely have been a book that I would buy and read. Charlie is an interesting guy.

I would like to see a sellection of his hotel room drawings.
It is told that he makes one from every hotel room during touring.
That, with some background info, would be great book I think.

A propos Charlie's drawings: Haven't seen much of them. The ones on the early LP sleeves are naivistic; like child drawings. By the way: Was it Charlie who made the drawings for "Dirty Work"?

Charlie made this drawing and from the few others I've seen (some are reproduced in the TOTA book from '75) its a good example. pure line, uncluttered, honest expression..

I'd like to see a book of his drawings too..he did the one on Charlie Parker. He won't do one, probably..I think his drawings are cool. they are similar to the spare style Henri Matisse had..that's good artistic company

I hope not. He is the only one left with integrity.

It would be just that - a cover, two pages - one to give the credits (publisher, author, etc) and page two would be the book title on paper. The About The Author back cover page would say something similar, for instance:

The author, who has never had a driver's license and is the only rock musician in the world to have remained married to his original wife, has been the drummer for The Rolling Stones for five years of work and 45 years of standing around. He lives in rural England with a bunch of horses and collects automobiles.

One of the established fast-food chains of rock autobiographers, Alan Clayson, has already attempted a bio on Watts as part of his series of bios on each individual Stone. I can only remember one line from the whole book, mainly because it gets repeated at least a half-dozen times, one of the phrases Clayson keeps using to descibe CW as a "man about the house"...

A nice drawing from Charlie there, Duke. A pure, uncluttered line as you say. And it has an artistic expression which, for example, Ronnie's drawings lack.
