She's probably missing it because (as of Aug. the 1st) the Ritz is closed and it'll be for 2 whole years (major refurbishment in the way).

But this Paris hotel is a decent substitute for Ritz aficionados : grinning smiley

Ha, what'll that refurbishment entail?! I stayed around the corner from the Ritz a few years ago—in a bed-and-breakfast—so passed the Ritz numerous times when walking through the Place Vendome and I'd think, "So, this is the hotel where Mohamed Al-Fayed bugs the rooms." I read as much in a VANITY FAIR profile on Al-Fayed (he owns the Ritz). He actually bugged the Ritz rooms to hear what guests were saying. Maybe he wanted to hear what Mick said to L'Wren about Keith....

Honestly I don't what it looked like and I don't what it'll look like after 140 MIl Euros are spent on it because pigs like me will never be permitted entrance in that place! grinning smiley Ask Mick instead!

I walk by it about twice a week though... I sometimes even take the small narrow street where the Ritz back entrance is located : you know the one Lady Di took when she left the hotel for her last voyage.
