The Las Vegas Story is an amazing album. Love of all of those that you mentioned.
That IS a great run of albums.. three are outstanding (Outside, Heathen and Reality) Earthling and Hours are not quite as good but always worth listening to.

I agree.
Electric Warrior was poetic and mystical - I love that album.
Slider was not as good (clumsy - less poetic but still some great tracks).
Tanx and Zinc were throwaway.
I wouldnt put Another Side or Nashville Skyline in the same boat as the rest of the albums mentioned there (both very good though), but I dont think anyone can top that run of greatness over what was just a 6-7 year period. (Consider that its now 7 years since the Stones last recorded together!)
Bob's mid 70s quartet of Planet waves, Blood on the Tracks, Desire and Street Legal are worth a mention though (done in four and a half years)
Only ones I'd really compare with Bob's 60s run would be Bowie's output between 1971 and 1980 (skipping the 'Pin Ups' covers album) - 10 albums of original songs - and Springsteen's between 1973 and 1987 (Wild The Innocent through to Tunnel of Love - 7 albums, although there were dozens of other great songs which were unreleased for many years afterwards). neil Young's run from 'Everybody knows this is nowhere' through to 'Americans stars n bars' (1969-77) The Who's quartet from 'Tommy' through to 'Who By Numbers' is great too. Maybe even Bob Marley's albums through much of the 70s.
