If anyone here has had the pleasure of seeing him rip off Jessica with the Allman Brothers back in the day you would see another side, it is in my top 10 live songs I have seen.
I also have a boot copy of the entire Stones show at the Toronto Sars concert. This boot is a sound board that sounds like it was not mixed or touched by Stones. It is mixed like any other band and you can clearly hear every lick, piano rip, horn, it is amazing to hear what the Stones realy soundlike before they cloudy it up. You can realy appreciate the R&R and classic bits Chuck puts in. On the down side you can actualy hear every sound Keiths fingers make as his fingers randomly hit and miss notes, it is truly a great example of how they clean up and over dub before the public release of the three songs they bothered to do for the official video.
But it's been 10 years since then...I'm sure Keith has had time to practice and get better.
Ha, ha, you are a "spaßvogel".
I'm a jokebird?!
Something gets lost in the translation I think!
I'd prefer to be known as a 'spaßtick'.

He doesn't have any roll... unlike Ben Waters.
"roll" needs to be permanently eliminated from the lexicon along with "weave" and the others. it means nada....
It does.
When it comes up in the first tunes/lyrics it is associated to the rythm and some sort of movement/swing emanating from a strong beat - Ben Waters being a boogie player, he has that.
the more you try to explain it, the less it means....
Didn't Wyman state that he was following Charlie, but Charlie was following Keith, so you had a "wobble" to begin with, before you get into anything else?
I don't know, but with with Keith not all there any more, Wyman entirely absent, no Stu, Billy or Nicky..... it sure does feel/sound watered down.
That's it! They lost their wobble.

I have no beef against Chuck, but I wish he'd back off some. However, I'd be fully for Ian MacLagan being the keys man on this next tour.

The only song that does it for me is Like a Rolling Stone, I almost like Chuck here. Most of the time I can't stand his plink-plunk.
He might be a great piano player and he's done great job with the ABB but this are the Stones and he just doesn't seem to fit.

So what does bring Chuck bring to the Stones that prevents him from being kicked out...

And he has a neatly trimmed beard. There's nothing less R&R than a neatly trimmed beard ... his clothing fashion is dreadful. Brightly coloured shirts, tucked into his pants.
Really?... What's that really have to do with anything?
Stu didn't look right either... did he?
No he didn't. And Stu was kicked out, even though he was a fantastic piano player!

What's with all the "Chuck has a beard" bulls***?
Billy Preston had a nicely-trimmed beard...and an afro wig.

In a different time, Stu was only "kicked out" of the spotlight and the photo shoots...
But if Stu had still been alive and playing with the Stones on their most recent tours, don't you think he'd be just as visible onstage as Chuck is today?... Despite his looking less "R&R" than the other guys.
And if Stu was onstage playing great with them during recent tours, would some people complain about the way he looked?
Of course... we'll never know the answer...

I have never heard from any outside source that Stu was considered a great piano player. To me he was a decent boogie-woogie piano player. But there are thousands of them. And he was often mixed down somewhere in the background. Surely, he was a great guy though. But if they liked him so much: Why did they accept his maltreatment?

I don't know what means "Spaßtick", but "Spaßvogel" means "joker", "jester", "jocester" in German. I think it is really funny to suggest that Keith is getting better on guitar by rehearsing. There are unfortunately some lousy new gigs by Keith on Youtube. I don't understand how he is able to do such lousy guitarwork if you bring in account that he is playing this instrument for about 60 years.

Here is the definition for spastic...I was making a play on words with Spaßvogel...definition number 3 which I've bolded was where I was going.
spas·tic (spstk)
adj.
1. Of, relating to, or characterized by spasms: a spastic colon; a spastic form of cerebral palsy.
2. Affected by spastic paralysis.
3. Offensive Slang Clumsy or inept.
Anyhow, I was joking of course, so your dead on!
Regarding Keith, given his drug abuse, arthritis, and head injury, we should be amazed and thankful he's alive, still able to walk and talk, and even hold a guitar. Everything else is gravy.

There can't be anybody more out of fashion than Chuck. His looks are 1988 American fashion, and hasn't changed a bit ever since.

Thank you senor johnson, very kind of you to say. I find that if I have too many coffee's in the morning, especially on an empty stomach, that "dihairesis (Plato's heuristic method to find a concept)" is often the unfortunate result.
Still, a clean colon is nothing to sneeze at.
