..I just had a moment of immense sadness.
I looked at the release date for the Reality Album.
September 2003.
It looks like that's it. Nothing in 9 years.
Reality was a great album. He went out on a high.
Anyone seen any recent pictures of him or heard any news?

Agree about the Toy album. Picked it up on Godfather Records about two months ago and it hasn't been out of my cd player. It's fantastic.

I think it's good that he had decided to retire (for now), whatever his reasons. It goes to show that he is not governed by ego, trying to flog a public persona in his old age. It'd be exciting to hear new work from him, but I'd hope he is different enough from some of his peers to stay off the tour treadmill, doing the songs "we all love". He's been there, done that.
Plus, his vocal range would be diminished since 2003. Unlike many others though, he is probably just intelligent and realistic enough to not want to go on screeching out the old numbers like he's still 25. He also seems to have too many interests to hanker for any more time in the limelight. I don't spend much time listening to him /mostly "Heathen"/, but you've gotta love a dude with his balanced attitude.
I'm not contrasting the Stones negatively with this by the way. They're two very different types of artists, who just happened to explore each other's bodies for a brief romantic moment in the '70's.

Some of his archive material would be nice.

So by the time he wrote “Station to Station,” mainly in the studio, Bowie’s mind was like a swath of exposed film in a camera whose shutter was stuck open.
