I would never want to see someone suffer from depression or feel the need to see a therapist. But, after years of putting it off, I started seeing a psychotherapist a few months ago. And reading that made me feel a little better, in a way.

It sounds as if your inner thetans are acting up. Speak with a Scientologist about something called auditing.

It explains his overt liberal guilt complex.

Maybe actually caring about the people who have been beaten down by the excesses of the greed in the economic system of the last 30 years explains it better.
That kind of logic and reasoning doesn't work with most of the people around here.eye rolling smiley...Even though it's true.

It just goes to show that money can't buy happiness. Anybody from the guy who works at the local grocery store to a rich and famous rock star can suffer from depression.

Springsteens admissions will help other people and for that alone he should be given a lot of credit.

How come nobody ever said that about Woody Allen and his 30-plus years in therapy?

Well it seems that someone decided to tend to Bruce-fans' depression :

"Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band - 1975-08-13, Bottom Line, New York - PREVIOUSLY UNCIRCULATED RECORDING! - Original Master Series

Original Master Series
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band
The Bottom Line - New York, NY
August 13, 1975 (Late Show)
Audience Recording by ODoc 55
Source-Sony 110B mono cassette deck with builtin mic
Tape>CDR>EAC>/Wave Editor>Magix>flac

FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER this previously uncirculated treasure is now being shared with Bruce Springsteen fans worldwide! The Bottom Line Shows are legendary and for those wondering if a recording of the August 13th, 1975 show would ever surface, the wait is finally over! For a fan who was there in those early days, Mr Anonymous can tell you what it was like:

"The story of Bruce's early days has been documented many times, most recently in the current New Yorker magazine. As described therein, Bruce's five night, ten show stint at The Bottom Line was crucial to launching his third album, Born to Run. Many executives at Columbia Records were frustrated with Bruce's lack of commercial success and Born to Run was likely his last chance with the label. Columbia reportedly bought a quarter of the 500 seats for each show to distribute among music industry people to help spread the word. Even so, tickets did not sell out immediately and a week after going on sale they were available for any of the shows. That all ended when the public heard WNEW’s broadcast of show number 5. The next two nights, fans were lined up around the corner with the hope of getting a standing room spot at the bar to hear the new phenom.

This is the first recording of one of the late shows to surface. It is the first night and this tape captures all of the ambiance of this intimate club. You can hear each breath and whisper from Bruce while dishes and glasses are shuffled on the tables. Bruce seems to just appear behind the piano and gets a single reaction from the crowd as he opens solo with For You. It is evident how he captures the crowd more and more with each song. By the time he hits the 20 minute versions of Kitty's Back and New York City Serenade, he has them in his hands."

Thanks to Mr. Anonymous who met the taper, ODoc55, thru Dimeadozen

Actually, Bruce went out of his way, at the onset of the current tour, to announce he wouldn't be participating in politics this year. Apparently he was tired of struggling to fill the last quarter of the house everywhere but Jersey and NYC where the audience is all 1%, no 99% anyway. Nope. No greed in that thinking.

The shows have been fabulous even as the same little lectures pop up as does the commendable recommendation of the local food bank. I am hoping he extends the Fall run as I haven't seen him in almost ten years. This after having never missed a tour since '75.

...and it shows that depression is a sickness of the rich world, where people (in general ) don't have problems for eating or find water, and where people have time to thik about life, time to go to restaurant, time to go to holidays, time to read books and time to enjoy life.
i don't know if in myanmar or uganda people feels depressed. maybe angry, tired or hopeless, but not depressed.
so at the end, 60-70 years old rockstars afraid to die and to get old ( like bilions of other people) leave me quite indifferent .
