Andy Warhol writes about the visit in his book EXPOSURES, including this bit about Mick: "The White House said they'd like me to join Mick and Bianca Jagger for lunch with Jack Ford on the `Sequoia,' the President's yacht, the next day in Washington. Of course, we accepted.

"The White House said there was only one little problem—did I know how to get hold of Mick and Bianca? I called Mick and he said he couldn't make up his mind about going. He didn't know whether he wanted to give the impression that he was endorsing Ford. Meanwhile, time was running out, because the White House said they needed a day's notice to get the `Sequoia' ready. Finally, after a lot of phone calls back and forth, it was arranged that only Bianca would go for lunch at the White House, and that Bob [Colacello] and I would come after lunch to help Bianca with the interview." (p. 26) Warhol then writes about the actual visit for a couple pages.

That book brings back memories. I got that before I got Up and and Down. The fall of 1979 and I had just discovered the Stones...Every time I went to the mall with my mom and sisters - I'd stay in the book store and leaf through Exposures....It was something of an introduction for me.

Warhol never claimed that himself. Christopher Andersen in his dopey Mick biography said that. As I related in some Andersen thread here, Warhol once said, "I started having sex at 26. I stopped having sex at 26."

In a Warhol biography by Victor Bockris, a doctor who gave Warhol a prostate exam said that when he put his finger up Andy's rear, Warhol said, "It's been a long time since anyone's been up there."

Warhol was primarily a voyeur.

Mick even said disdainfully once, "Andy Warhol has no sex life of his own, so he obsesses over the sex lives of everyone around him."
