Anyway, if there are show in the fall or winter lets hope it is affordable.
The world has changed drastically and I don't think they can charge the same prices this time. I know at the end of ABB in 2006 I opted for the 99 USD tix instead of the 350 USD I pad in 2005. If they had toured last year there is no way I would have even considered seeing them in the US. The venues/promoters, etc. charge too much which caused the bands to raise prices.
I'm not so sure about that. I just paid $550/ and $275/ (face price) to see Roger Waters in Ft. Lauderdale and Philly respectively. 5th and 19th row center. These were sold out shows. I'll pay just as much if not a lot more to see the Stones for what is likely their last tour. I fully expect to see some tickets at $1,000+ face price.
Then you are in a better place than I and many others....
Any ticket over $100 is now unatainable to me, or at least I have to live this way to ensure at least a modest future living with some dignity.
As for tickets and packages for a residency tour I am afraid that unless I can drive to the show and back within 24 hours I won't be able to go. Can't afford the hotlels, bar tabs and food expenses. So, honestly, unless I get to have a beer with Richards, talk about Paris with Watts, art with Wood, and geo politics with Jagger over wine and cheese then there is no package worth paying for over 100 USD. Beyond all this it is just a concert and a 20 USD dvd might be my only expense on the Stones this time around.
While I've very much enjoyed the RS shows I've seen in the past, and would certainly like to see them again, I won't be paying $500-1000 again this time.
The incremental utility I would derive from paying that much, would not justify the price.
A $20 DVD and the bashing back and forth on IORR sounds much more value-laden.
I am with you guys. As much as I enjoyed all of the shows that I saw on the ABB tour, and as much as I would love to see them play with Wyman for once, there is just no way that I will waste that kind of money this time around. And quite honestly, I think their bringing Bill back in is much more about the band then being able to charge outrageous ticket prices for it than it is about an actual reunion. After all that they've done and charged fans, what is there left to do? Hmm, let's get Bill back no matter what the cost so that we can make the nose bleeds $500. That's my thoughts on the whole thing, and believe me, I want to see them perform with Bill and Mick T as much as the next guy, but in all honesty, I think it's just a ploy to up the ticket costs.
I have said it before and I will state it again. Give me a $1,000 to $3,000 ticket so the whining riff raff will not be there.
Missing the last Stones show is not something I am willing to go to my grave regretting

treacle - once again - spot on!
I would MUCH rather give my entertainment money to hardworking, currently artistically relevant (to me) artists.

bet you are from the US
not even close. i'm from texas.
Really loved San Antonio
jeroen
i see you're not from texas. it's San Antone.
Texans don't like to think they are part of the rest of the US. The ones I know always maintain that the US is lucky that Texas let them join up with them.
and isn't it?
No.
hmmmph. well, we can secede anytime we like with attitudes like that....
Anything we can do to help you along with that Tod I'm all for it. You've already got half the fence built......peace
i think we tried once before, but as i always say...if at first you don't secede, try try again...
If you attempt to secede for the second time, isn't that technically a recede?
same thing..
No, I think it's cooler in hell. peace
